We mentioned the Swan and The Brown Cow on the row that started where the old Grammar School used to be, and one we didn't mention was the Sun, between the Swan and The Brown Cow. I'm in my mid seventies but I'm not sure I remember it. Does anyone else? Incidentally, some years ago I was given a book by the Leigh Local History Society called 'Pubs of Leigh Revisited' and they are ALL in there. Perhaps, if anyone is interested, it may still be available through the Leigh Library

Well I don't recall it but it must have been in a terrace ie attatched to the side of the Swan as the Brown Cow was a detached building.
Anyone remember that footie pitch behind the Brown Cow ?

There was also the Saddle next to Allsops and between them was a ginnel, and the Millstone was at the bottom of that. The Sun stood back from the main road a bit and backed on to the old graveyard It was demolished with all the others in 1958.
