The Tomkins deal is supposed to be an RFU central contract worth 400k per season (I hear his revised 4 year deal at W*gan was worth about 80k pa)
W*gan apparently told Sarries - "250k fee or he's going nowhere"!!......it'll be interesting to see if that bit held firm!!

You can't blame the lad for wanting out for a five-fold increase in his salary - even if it is to The Dark Side!!

Some folk will do anything for money........even playing for W*gan!!!

I can think of around 800000 reasons why Sam will be next.

But now the RFl have tweeked the Salary cap so dear little Sam, can be paid more to stay, the salary cap will now have dispensations for home grown or long serving players

Sam has signed a 5 year deal to stay at Wigan

He will be able watch us again next season then.

He is not allowed to talk to union or another club untill his contract is up ,must have offered big bucks but glad union won't be able to entice him

Both club get the chance to gain on this and I'm sure if its a success you will see players move to and from the partner clubs as the seasons don't run parrarel.
Its not as if Wigan are bigger than Saracens or vice versa, just a sensible way of using resources without one taking over the other.

When Sam comes to watch his mate Andy Thornley play for us, he pays for a ticket as do the people who come with him. He doesn't receive a comp off Andy.
Sam in a way puts into our club by purchasing a ticket, which in turn makes him a Leigh supporter.
Are.we reduced to calling our own now because they play for Wigan?

BTW the 2 clubs have agreed in principle to play a friendly.
Usually Wigan let us keep all the gate money too, yet people still have a bee in their bonnets about them.

No one was having a go at Tomkins. Just the RFL now realising that that it needs to act, as it involves one of the games best players, who happens to come from WIGAN

So basically it has no relevance whatsoever where he comes from or who he plays for? Sam Tomkins is an exceptional talent....Kyle Eastmond isn't.

Looks like a big about turn then regarding Sam got to say i am glad he's staying in rugby league

So am I he is a superb RL player and would have spent 95% of game time watching goal kicks scrums lineouts and mauls had he changed codes.

Would have been a waste of an outstanding talent.
