Years ago when the A&E department was going to be closed at Leigh, the people of the town organised and carried out a 'march' through the town centre.
Why shouldn't we do that for Leigh Centurions now, it will raise the profile of the team and we could bucket collect on the way round and help raise some money!
Just a thought, shouldn't be too hard to put together, it could culminate at the sports village and there could be a fun day, touch rugby, stalls etc to try and get some more cash!!

The event could then finish at the night time, with a concert/music night. The Hospice does the proms, the stadium is big enough and must have an entertainment licence.
I know its a bit of a big idea, but there must be some money to be made!!!

There must be local bands who would be willing to play/appear, it would be publicity for themselves as well. Get the media involved and show everyone that the people of Leigh want there rugby team.

In the bad old days when the baliffs were coming we slept over night to prevent them we were also having to raise money for the leccy bill etc. During that time we took to the streets of Leigh & collected 20.000 yes 20.000 signatures to save the club. As you can see nothings changed

We had a march years ago when in a CVA that raised £20000 and went from our old home to the new craven park,yours in that ilk wouldnt be too far.
Strangly enough i think it was b4 a swinton match.
You could organise a sponsored walk to a 4 nations match.

Hmmm there is perhaps a route around the town and old places where the club has played... first starting behind the Three Crowns pub on Chapel Street, then Mather Lane, then Charles Street, Kirkhall Lane and then the Sports Village.. A Heritage March from our past, into our future...

To end with the unveiling of a large sign in front of the stadium "Home of LEIGH CENTURIONS"

A lot of people won't know but every week there are national coach tours using the Park Inn Hotel for one or more overnight stays. One evening, heading home from one of my Country Park walks, I was passing a group of people from the Hotel who were having a stroll passed the stadium when I heard one of them ask the group "who plays here?" - I think they found out from a small sticker on the ticket office window. I immediately thought - why the hell have we not got a big sign up with our name on?
I remember the question being asked at a LISA meeting at Leigh East quite a while ago and Phil Coffey confirmed that the reasion was that we had not asked for one


I think it's terrible that we are not linking our name to such a fantastic facility especially when we are attracting international matches plus the opening of Morrisons shortly?

We could ask all the schools to get involved, that way encouraging the kids for the future.
There should be enough fans to man stalls, get donations for a raffle, hand out leaflets about the club.
The options are endless!!
