A few people on Twitter/Facebook etc are asking about a PayPal account to make donations. Is this feasible? Is there anybody to manage it?

Would definitely be worth doing as it's so easy for people to donate once reading the news stories as mentioned in another thread where it can be tagged on the end of press releases, Twitter, RLFans etc |

Seems as good a place to start as any.
Easy to donate, and it doesn't involve much effort on peoples part i.e sponsored walks, bike rides etc. Plus, as has been mentioned, it can quickly be spread around the RL world with a link to donate.

Paypal would charge when you set up a fundraiser account. About 2.50 for every 100 quid thnk. But it's a great idea. Stops all the cheque payments and posting

I think every avenue of payment should be covered. I would assume interest is being added to the debt we currently have - so monies being paid in as quickly as possible would reduce the amount going to the bank instead of the club.
My suggestion is if the club can provide say a email address with auto responder set up with paypal account details (stating clearly how the donating person can avoid passing charges on for that payment)
Bank transfer details
postal address details for checks with who to make it payable to
Credit/debit card payments by phone with phone number - again making it clear that debit card charges are a lot less in charges so the donating person can donate by debit card if money permitting.
and of course the courtesy of thanking the fan.
All very easy to set up, and can be done now. The email address could be something like LeighFightingFund@leighrl.co.uk. This could be put on the official site, here as a sticky, LISA site, Leigh Life (or whatever its called) etc. Better than putting bank details directly on line - as I think that looks a bit risky/dodgy.

But its not coherent. Money I think needs to go direct to the bank of the club now, and I think this email thing could be done today and the email address put everywhere.
Going off this thread its only the paypal account the club needs to set up, as the rest is there.

That is a good positive point made, which I don't have the answer apart from I don't see how a donation can be classed as taxable income - just like LISA. Can someone answer for sure on this?
I only put my point across on this issue because of all the threads on here we seems to have too many people who want to help now but are restricted. We also have too many hero's wanting to help - people meaning well of course but its just adding to the confusion.
All we need is one source of contact with every possible way of donating and also getting it to the clubs bank account as quickly as possible.
On the email list I mentioned I missed off the obvious of walking up to the stadium and making donation. |

if you give me your paypal email i'll send the funds in my account to yours. £27.31 what people have donated. i will tell you it takes around 21 days for payments to be abled to transfer to an account |
