Widnes did well to spot Ellis and Riddy and restrict them. Would say the difference was out wide with Maden, Evans, Nanyn and Deano outstanding I reckon.

I thought Ellis and Riddy had poor kicking days today. If they had been on song then you would have known. All credit to Widnes they took their chances well and caused a few heart flutters, they never really gave up. Good game to watch a shame Mr Robys reffing was so up and down for both sides. I think a lot of that was due to the pressure that Eliis and Riddy were under each time - was very disappointed that we didn't target I'Anson half as much.

He'd have been even worse if we put him under an ounce of pressure on the last tackle - let's face it, you've no other options for kicking in general play.

I thought Widnes played some good stuff.

Great game thought the ref was same for both sides and the result was always in the balance.

Good game overall ,don't know why Evans' try was deemed held up when in fact he slid over the line .Couldn't watch near the end when Widnes where near our line but good defence put paid to the attack phew .I reckon they will trouble Fev and hopefully get a win or two

number 11 is Jimmy T but he wears a black headguard, Tommy Goulden wears a grey one

While we're on about Jimmy T, did anyone else notice (I'll have to watch the video to confirm) he made every tackle in a set of widnes plays towards the end, he only didnt tackle the last play because they kicked it in fear of him.

I've missed this post match outburst by Dennis Betts. Can anyone post a link or tell us what was said. Would love to hear a players or coaches view of how we looked yesterday and how loud we were. They certainly looked happy clapping us at the end.

It did not seem so to me from my view on the halfway line in the South Stand. Several Widnes players were taken out after they had played the ball, and the referee disregarded the linesman's flag on two occasions.

However, Leigh took their chances well and the crowd was good.

Though don't forget he listened to his linesman and disallowed Evans' try, even though it seemed pretty clear from the East Stand that he had grounded it without a problem.

You would have had a good view of the head hunting that went on by the Widnes players.

The Reece Evans try they got wrong the first attempt he grounded the ball.
