Ive been told he trained with Barrow last night,and is looking for a contract with them this season, good lock to the lad ,when he first arrived i wasnt impressed by him , but he seemed to settle down later and did OK ,he could be facing us at Barrow in our first away match.

Armi was a real favourite down at Craven Park during 2007 and 2008 and it caused a real stir when he was released after we were promoted. I don't think he ever showed the same form at Leigh, but then again it was a higher level than he'd played at with Barrow.

Should be a good signing for us if he's offered a contract.

always liked ARMI but i think Mills is a stronger and better player

Like I said, was great for us in 2007/08. Went backwards in the very poor Leigh side of 2009. If signed he can hopefully regain the form he had when at Barrow originally. The kind of character who can lift a team, which is something we could do with at the moment.

He's only on trial to begin with and I'm sure that if he doesn't cut the mustard he won't be offered a contract (like Doran).

In fairness to Dave, he played most of 2009 carrying an injury from a pre-season friendly. He went on to have a better season, in a better team, in 2010. He just didn't fit into Ian's plans, I suppose - plus he said he was going home. A nice guy - good luck to him at Barrow. (he was Championship One player of the year there, wasn't he?)

He saw me and Wurzel on the train after the Challenge Cup final in our Leigh shirts, woke Wurzel up, had our pictures taken with him, Matty Blythe and a Barrow player I didn't know and then had a beer with him. I'd post the picture but every time I try to it doesn't work.
