Pretty sure that the Community Lions are a development side. I don`t think the East or Miners are doing to well at u18 at the mo but I`ll stand corrected by folks with greater knowledge from those respective clubs.

East are struggling admittedly but both they and the miners have good players that wouldnt look out of place in the lions squad

the community lions team is selected following a series of trials and festivals. First up the players have to trial and be selected for their service area (wigan, leigh, st helens, warrington etc) and then play in the Regional Festival where these service areas play against each other. The regional festival acts as a trial for the National Festival, where a regional team is selected for North West, Yorkshire, Midlands, London etc. The Community Lions squad is selcted from the players performances at the National Festival.
So there are loads of reasons why players arent included. They might have not attended the service area trial, or they may have not been selected for the service area, or if they did, then they might have not been selected for the regional team etc etc. The squad is only picked on players performances from the National Festival, so if they dont play then they cant get picked!

As a miners player... we have a great squad in the national youth league and there will be a lot of cumbrian players as there only team West Cumbria is a bunch of players which have been selected throughout the teams and majority of our miners players your right wouldn't look out of place
come watch Tomorrow East Vs Miners 1.30 kick off at east check both sides out.
