What can 'we' as the supporters on the message boards do to help the club next year? I e-mailed Andy Parky an idea that a 'downloadable poster' should be sent out to all Leigh fans and businesses that sign up to the idea of putting a few posters up around the town?

Maybe if we have any computer experts in, they could help with the design of the posters.

Maybe the club should send us a load of car stickers and we distribute them amongst people and family we know, get some awareness back in the town.

Anyone got any other ideas that are cheap and easy? Ones where we could all help?

Posters advertising games to be downloadable a great idea, and if we give them out to our own locals that will help.
How about the club approaching a few local pubs and offering a season ticket/book of match vouchers foc that that pub can raffle or play open the box, or whatever for and then every week they will be giving a ticket away to the next game

If the club sent me a downloadable poster I could have it in Wigan and Leigh College Image Centre, Shepherds Inn, Hare and Hounds, Golborne Sports and Social and The Robin Hood.

I could put mine in my dad's butchers in atherton.

There you go! It's dead easy, just a little bit of effort from us lot and a bit of initiative from the club and we get free promo.

It's just such a cheap and easy way of getting the club into the public eye mate! Do you know anyone who is any good at design on computers?

Design a poster.

I work in one of the local newsagents on a weekend and would gladly put advertisements in the window : )

See!!! All the club has to do is design a poster before home games (or ask one of us to do it) then post a link to it on our forum. We print them off and get them stuck up before every home game.

I am sure someone can confirm that the club has tried that one in the past few years.

Surely its worth a try as it is free and is so easy to do. The club needs to start realising that our forum is a massive asset, only 5 other clubs get more replies on rlfans, surely we should start to use this to our advantage.

We have posters designed in house which are distributed throughout the town prior to every game How's about to start the ball rolling, anyone willing to help us on this poster distribution, can you please e-mail me on andrew@leighrl.co.uk I can then start to build a deidcated mailing list, and once we get the posters rolling again (there'll be a few for some events coming up in the off season) we can distributing far and wide.

The key to idea's like this is to continue doing them , they will not instantly add fans to the gate on their own

It needs several ideas used continually for years to make any reasonable difference

Agreed, if we can get posters out there in plenty time before home games, and keep it up, people will notice. I'm going to e-mail Andy tomorrow and link it to my address book.

Posters need to support a clear message/strategy/strap line from the club, dont put the cart before the horse like we normally do.

My home town small soccer team (not even Blue Star League!) advertise their forthcoming fixtures (home and away) and second team games on an A4 sheet inj the club colours (blue and white) and put them on the notice boards at Booths, Tesco and Sainsburys plus all the local barbers shops and as many other prominent places as they can get. At least that way people will know that we HAVE a rugby team and they will know when they are on every week.

Sounds so easy, I mean if fifty of us put ten posters up each, that's 500 up around the town.

this season the club HAD posters left over after each match, matbe you should contact them and tell them to send you one for the games next season
