Not heard the ASDA one but The Stobart one was mentioned to me a few months ago.

Id be amazed if Asda sponsor SL, the obvious link is to the Rhinos but cant see them sponsoring anyone in current climates.

Asda will sponsor Widnes & Eddie will get lots of transportation work from Asda. All very neat & tidy.

I wouldnt a penny on either of the above mate, the local Widnes store might sponsor Widnes but Asda Walmart sponsoring Widnes???

Why would Asda be sponsoring the Vikings when SOC and Stobart actually have a close working relationship with Tesco in the town?

Tesco have moved into Stobarts 528,000 sq ft chilled distribution facility in Widnes, which is part of Stobart's Mersey Multimodal Gateway.

If SOC is going to work with a supermarket, it would be Tesco, and not Asda. Hey, I’d laugh my cock off if I thought this was true, but it’s just a poor bit of trolling; looking to smear the Widnes Vikings and our sponsors by insinuating some sort of corruption is required for the club to obtain a SL licence. The fact that Leigh are our strongest opposition from the heartlands shows that such a move isn’t required.
