so if Celtic Crusaders are no more and are now named Wrexham Crusaders would they qualify for a franchise in super league with the current set up? it was a dodgy franchise before when they were Celtic Crusaders

Same thing happened with the London Broncos they started under a new new name when they went t-ts up and also kept the points they had won under the old clubs name

When it happened with London they changed the rules so that it couldn't happen again. Seem to remember them saying the next time it happened the offending club would be relegated. But since we no longer have relegation from SL.......

I might be alone here, but does anyone else feel heartened to see the greatest game spreading as far that people are willing to set up, operate and be involved in RL clubs/websites when they haven't had the privelige of growing up with the game like we have?

To be honest I couldn't careless what happens with the franchise farce,its dieing a death anyway,live within our means and in the end they will have to come and ask the likes of leigh,widnes,halifax to join them as they will have destroyed themselves in the top flight

But that isn't why Wrexham have got involved. They have publicly stated they think it will help the football club. ie alot of the RL generated funds will find its way into the FC accounts.

Much like preston north end did with Lanc lynx,as soon as the money dried up...booted out back to chorley

But I think it will also help the rugby club to boost their crowds if people know it is for the good of what is always going to be the main sport in the area.

As long as the RFL are allowed to do want they want regardless then they will carry on doing want they want .What the answer is i dont know,no club wants to raise the issue with them in fear of reprisals.Maybe if all the clubs ask for an explanation together ,but i cant see that as no-one wants to rock the boat.

So they have set up a "new" company written off all debts from old one ..started again with a "new" Regime and basically in the RFL's eyes pretty much guaranteed themselves a franchise the next time around... i said last year i would never watch another game of "Super league" as the game i grew up with is corrupted and rotten to the core and this just tops it off ..laughable

You really know feck all about sport in the Wrexham area. Liverpool FC are the major club in the area, not Wrexham, and always have been.

If the football with years of traddition needs a super league club to survive then god help um they are getting 3000 avg ish lets see what crusaders crowds will be and this is not a weekend away jolly anymore

We certainly aren't the biggest club around but by god we're a hell of a lot better run than you are. The town of Leigh is and always will be too small, it's no disgrace that you've been left behind just one of those things. If you wanted to be a SL club you've had your chances and you've blown it, 05 was a joke

Dico-you've got the right name anyway.

Having a Chairman who has put an incredible amount of money into the club and countless millions from Sky,probably does help Warrington be "better run than our club", but don't look down your nose at us,the Town,the club and the fans don't deserve that.

Fans like you who can only see SL are whats wrong with RL at present and why I for one have no time at all for SL either watching it on TV or reading about it.I'll always support my club no matter which league we are in and thats all I care about.

I posted the exact same observation on the VT about half an hour ago.

oh and the W£$%n and Celtic situations were completely different, but it isn't worth explaining it as it has been done elsewhere. This guy just hates Leigh with a passion. Much the same as we hate that team up the road.
