thats why fax didnt have a reserves this year & that hasnt
paid off for them, aswell as other teams in our league.

Of course it's paid off for them, they'rethe best team in this league by a country mile don'tcha know?!



Maybe if Fax had run the reserves this year they would've had less beer tokens, which could've saved them a lot of bother and embarrassment in the long run?!

I wouldn't like us to get rid of them because it'll harm any future SL bid but that something the club will need to quantify in the budget.

We've already applied for dispensation from the RFL because we'll have some big players on good money so the chances of keeping the U21's is remote I'd have thought.

any players under the age of 21 rnt included in the salary cap read that somewhere on the rlf website and there are going to be a fair few players under the age of 21

This is something that Leigh really need to ensure we stay involved in. The nucleus of our first team at the moment reflects the good work of the reserves and its system. With a good quality coaching team in place and a couple of astute signings for experience we really are looking at good times ahead with a local team being represented by local lads. I hope Ian Millward is given free reign to run the playing staff and good money is geared towards a high quality marketing person with the right contacts and acumen.

As long as Millward doesn`t put Rowley in charge of coaching the reserves you will be ok.

those players u21 have to have come thro your scolarship system
not just to be u21, because what would stop us going out signing every u21 player released by other clubs, we could pay them what we wanted

I for one certainly hope we keep an under 20's team, (thats what it becomes next year) after all we have to have some sort of a winning team in the club


In Jukesy I think we have a 'gem' he's a good knowledgeable coach and has the necleus of a good under 20's side already.
