The team play well and win last week and then same team played today, but most looked uninterested, weird they cant turn into bad players over night, can they.?

I aint close to the camp and I dont know any current players but..............

there are a number of them playing with broken bones and are absolutely nackered. Theres no excuse for losing by that many but rugby is a confidence game built on momentum and being 36-0 down at half time well the rest is history.

Added to the above is that most of them wont give a dam because they will know Basil wont touch them with a barge pole. Although if I was a current player then maybe Id be busting a gut to play well to win a contract.

However in 2009 its money rather than pride and loyalty that makes the world go round and I think the only way to entice some of the current crop into a decent performance would be to offer them an additional contract payment for keeping us up, sad but probably true.

With 5 games left and 4 games at home, roll on 2010!

Spot on DJ - what must the reserve lads think when they can't get a place ahead of a player who is so injured he can't tackle, pass, run, back up, etc etc.

I think that's just an excuse.

For example, we are told that Donlan has been carrying an injury - is that ALL season? Biggest let down ever and still gets a new contract.

How much of next years budget will he, Maden, Nanyn use up? OK Nanyn will get us points near the line but a centre should be quick as well and make breaks from midfield. Maden & Donlan have done nowt all season.

He has looked injured for most of the season - he hardly seems able to walk! He is possibly trying to give value for money by playing on, but he is now missing a lot of one-on-one tackles, and never looks like making a break. Better play a fit lad at centre. (if we've got one!)

The heavy tackle on Donlan yesterday really shook him up , he could hardly run after that

As the reserves are winning regularly at least 1 or 2 of them should get a run after that.

I know it's a difficult time of the season to do it but they might just make the difference as they'll probably be really up for it.

From what people have said Dollin should be able to walk into our team. I presume Alstead is injured again, he's had a nightmare season for injuries hasn't he?!

Whilst I agree totally with what you say I also think that the Sheffield game was the "one off" and what we witnessed last night was actually the true Leigh team that we have mostly seen all season.

Do you think it could be that we are targeting specific games to try and win???? And with 4 more at home and the performance we gave V Sheffield why not!

No you cannot just turn on and off in sport , we are badly lacking in confidence and a good performance but defeat yesterday would have helped us to prepare for the games to come

Anything other than 100 % preparation against Donny will see us lose

Unthinkable considering the problems they have had , but they have one advantage we dont , they are under no pressure whatsoever and that can be very dangerous for any team to play against

He hasnt got a new contract he's staying next year because Neil Kelly signed him on a 2 year deal!

Stu when fully fit would be great in this league but hes not been , however hes held his hands up to play every week, for which he deserves credit, but it cant be doing his injury any good and do the club need another Ian Knott scenrio again.

Full marks for his courage and dedication, but he's not doing the team, or himself, any favours.
