| Can't help but feel that if we could play towards the North Stand in the 2nd half it would create a better atmosphere, and encourage/lift the team more as the game reaches its final stages.
The only way we could do this is either our own coin or open the South stand (why was some in the East?) if the away team doesn't bring a big enough of a following for that, then give away supporters the South end of the West stand.

Ian Mort came out to play in that direction (again!) in the second half. The Barrow lads, who were lining up to kick off in that direction, thought it was hilarious!

Good spot Alan. Must admit i did have a little chuckle at this.
However i then started to think, which Mrs Optimist tells me is a dangerous thing
Are the players unfamiliar with the stadium? Do they get the chance to regularly train on the pitch? Or did Morty just fancy a run out with the Barrow team for the 2nd half?

Don't think they train on it at all - costs too much. Having talked to Mark Aston about the advantages he believed the Eagles had, by training on Don Valley, I can see this puts us at a disadvantage. (although Don Valley is somewhat 'unique')
P.S. Sheffield's advantages have now been curtailed, as they aren't allowed on Don Valley as much, since Rotherham United made it their 'home'.

| I think they'd play better attacking the line that they're trying to score over , apparently they didn't do this in the 2nd half yesterday

| Agree with the OP, I said at half time that Barrow would be better in the 2nd half playing towards the crowd rather than an empty stand. If I was your captain I'd be choosing to play towards the fans in the 2nd half - would give the players a great lift to hear the noise.
