the officials made a poor game even worse !

Not the only ref getting stick this weekend. Smith getting bagged by Quins and Wakey fans for sending LMS and R Moore off yesterday

But it is just not good enough is it ?

They get paid.PS I know I spelt fearfull wrong but Laughton................as a referee my god he is just so bad I despair when I find out he is refereeing any game I go to.

I bet he is better at other things though but refereeing he sadly is just not good enough. I have seen him at games where Leigh haven't been playing but he is always the same consistently crap.

Iv'e just remembered he gave Morts try that won us the game against the mutants last season I take it all back

Oldham's first try, their winger just 'touched down' the snow on the grass.
second try, it bounced forward from an Oldham pass via his team mate's back, waved play on, try ! Their 3rd try, the best one of the game though.

He did but he was poor that day too.Don't believe me ? He thinks folk go to a game to watch him spoil it.

Time he was told to hang up his boots and goes and gets treated at Manchester Eye Hospital.

Reason he missed the high shot of Higson was because he was running backwards, I kid you not as he was in my sightline when watching the incident.

During the two 'friendlies', officiated by SL referees, we conceded seven penalties in each game. We then go back to a Championship ref and he hammers both teams - us for offside, and Oldham for holding down/interfering. I know our discipline has been bad, but why is it that SL refs seem satisfied with it?

Also, that was a class moment, when he was explaining to RP, how to put the ball in a scrum. How long has Robbie been playing RL? He seemed to be getting very frustrated with Mr. Laughton!

Finally, who was it that eventually persuaded him to put the Higson incident on report? It took long enough!

Me thinks the penalty, the talk with the player, and eventually the icident being put on report would not ave happenned but for the Leigh supporters and the 4th Official

I thought that! RP was chewing is ear walking off at HT and when he blew for offside near our try line and pointed at RP he just looked and pointed back

But nothing is done about it.

Consistent whistle happy I will make sure folk know I am the referee and my touch judges know I am in charge' the game will be rubbish for speccies' who cares ?

Well folk who go to watch professional RL games do. Laughton gets in for free AND actually gets paid.

He is pathetic. Fred send the DVD of our last away game at Doncaster to the RFL never mind that Widnes game. Never mind today's game.

How I wish he would referee footie games.

Infact send them whatever dvd you have of a game he has officiated.Spare us this excuse of an official.

A ref is only as bad as his touch judges.
I thought that the one with the red flag was poor but the one with the yellow/green flag was one of the worst that i've seen and should be removed from the official list,
the ref himself probably gave his best but as this was no better than his previous displays at leigh then I have to conclude that in my humble opinion he is not up to officiating at professional matches and i think he should retire now rather than make a fool of himself every week.

The touch judge was pretty pathetic ,the one on the west side second half,how he missed the ball being ripped out near the corner (north )was unbelievable,it was him who split on Maden(dont know what for) which lost us the ball near their line ,he was quick enough to run on waving his little flag ,pity he missed more than he saw,and Laughton well least said the better.

The touch judges performed exceptionally bad today as they missed so much.
The ref was running away from the incident when Higson got flattened - no excuse whatsoever for the touch judges ,however it wasn't the only thing Laughton missed today (or in the past).

Ironic that we have a player getting sinbinned for alledged backchatting yet a high shot that takes a player out the match is deemed a 'on report matter' and even then after much delay.

Cummings should be delivering us better of his teams of officials, todays batch didn't perform and should be dropped for a few weeks.

The guy is a complete joke as a referee, he will not be happy until someone is hospitalized due to his complete ignorance of head high tackles, nearly every one of their plyers was guilty of at least one today, the guy is a laughing stock as a ref and the sooner he is put out to pasture the better, better still the glue factory. He is a liability to the game>

Why does it take 3 match officials to look for offside at the play the ball?

Thought Touch Judges where supposed to flag for offsides and forward passes.

Seems to me Laughton tells them before kick off he will make decisions UNLESS he asks for one of theirs.

This guy is one very poor referee and I keep saying it is not just at Leigh games.

The Touch Judges are obviously frightened of him.

One more thing I bet he's related to a Leigh player we used to play at full back till it was realised he was even more dangerous'from our point of view'on the wing.

This guy is so bad Cummings must take action.

The ref was BAD "incompetent" is putting it nicely

. The touch judges were useless wot purpose did they serve other than being oblivious to everything?. A bunch of useless tool's they want firing off

The TJ on the East stand side was as bad. When Oldham scored their first 'non' try, he was 30 yards behind play. Having said that, had he been up with play where he SHOULD have been, he probably wouldn't have said anything. And I ain't gonna comment about Laughton's inept performance ....

He (the East stand TJ) did come on waving his flag, over the Higson 'tackle', but the ref didn't seem to want to know what he'd seen. He (the ref) had a much better view looking in the opposite direction to the 'tackle'! Incidentally, what was the ref looking at, in the empty South stand, at that moment?
