I have been a fan of Micky since his amatuer days before he first donned a Leigh jersey, he has had a fantastic career for all the clubs his county and country he has served with dignity, but the time is right for him to step aside as others did to make way for the young Micky, in the 8's against Widnes, I know that he had to play nearly all the game but for the last 20 of that game he was out on his feet looking every bit all of his mid 30 years, being completely knackered and noticeably straining to carry on. It was not good to see a once Champion player like this, I for one would sooner remember him being great than an old timer struggling,

Apart from that I have had a little hiatus from several of my groups of interest due to some divorce unpleasantness *still ongoing* when I say divorce I mean seperation as we never married but have a child which is heartbreaking to put her through all this $#!T.

Anyway, my 2nd post today ....

I was referring to Thomas Wood, although he wasn't a coach as such he was Backroom staff.

If he does well and reaches his potential, what will that say about our illustrious coaching staff.

Never seemed to get a proper chance on the pitch (a bit like our ex stand off!) but then again, we don't know what goes on at the training ground.

100% Agreed.

Very average run of the mill players. Performances indicative of bottom end SL at best.

I would say having watched his performances like we all have , I would support our coaching staff's decision to send him packing.

Best thing I saw this huge 6 foot 4 prop forward do all season..... Was execute a superb up and under at Warrington in the league. In all honesty, We should have scored from it.

Obviously our coaching team hadn't recognised his true potential - he should have been stand off! (although I'm not sure how our wanabee stand offs - e.g. Hampshire and Stewart

- would have viewed that!)

Heard a snippet from within the camp about senior players attitudes before the Widnes league game when they could barely raise a team and it didn't say a lot about our management or the senior group, that game had a huge impact on our season imo coming after the shafting we took at Wakey. Maybe this is just a huge OTT clear out from which we come back stronger and more professional as the emphasis is certainly on the future. Roll on pre season friendlies
