The most decorated British manager bar none lad, and the likes that will never be seen again. the very fact he took United to a Final this season speaks volume with it widely being regarded as one of his weakest teams/ squads which is set for a make over this summer.

While Scousers lifted their 18th title (not knowing they would then be dreaming for 21 years and counting for their next one), Utd had not won it for 23 years. The bubble has got to burst sometime - Maybe Fergie eventually stepping down will be the burst.
For those actual Utd supporters (not the fans that switch the channel over from Corrie to Sky Sports to watch em) enjoy it while you can. It happened to Scousers and it happened to W1gan.

While you are correct , that things might well eventually change , both Liverpool and United have earned and paid for their success , it would seem from now on others will get it bought for them , like some spoilt brat of a rich ' Daddy '

Man City are no different than Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Forest before that. They all won titles after buying the best players!!

Why which team didn't buy the best players?? How many of Utd team last week came thru this mega production line of talent??

Wether you buy your players or produce your own doesn't really matter , all clubs will sometimes produce players and then other times have to buy

It's about where the money comes from , both Liverpool and United have spent money they have earned , but now it seems we are entering the era of the ' Charity ' club

Man Utd through the 70's and 80's did not do the above in 89 Utd were skint trying to sell it lock stock and barrel for 10m. Man city are no different today as Utd were 20 years ago. Only difference you need 100's of millions not 10's

Chelsea have been buying the best players for the last god knows how many years now and have won the champions league how many times?????? they have outspent United and brought in numerous world class coaches yet have been unable to emulate what fergie has done at United.

Our starting 11 saturday may not have had many youth product but few can deny that quallity coaching and shrewd purchases rather big money buys were behind this seasons run to the final and a record 19th championship.

Boys like Fabio and Hernandez who lined along side Park, Vidic and Evra players who cost next to nothing in comparison to what City and Chelsea spend and can be far from called buying the best.

Look at the bench Scholes, Owen, Fletcher cost nothing.

Van Der Sar was a bargain basement buy at 35 from Fulham.

Only Rooney and Rio many years ago now cost big money.
