Alright, the dares featured unlikely scorelines. As it happened they were all rendered impossible ten minutes into the second half of this weekend’s first fixture. Said fixture finished:

Toulouse 16 – 18 Leythe. Boy, what a hard fought win and what a great result – feels like two extra points.

The Agincourt dare turned out not to be a bad one as the match was relatively low scoring and, as it happened, Bongser was closest to the correct margin – only one out – for which he will (according to the rules) award himself jack.

Seven of The Nine called it. Bongser takes great pleasure in this win, but no schadenfreude in Wanderer (who, as a non-Leyther, may predict with his noggin rather than his thumper) wrongly calling a Toulouse win. Bongser does take exception to Leythers predicting Leythe losses.

According to Wiki, there were no Anglo-French battles in 1618. In fact, barring some Kepler shiite that would only be interesting to those on the astronomy thread on the Virtual Terrace, the only thing of note was Sir Walter Raleigh (contemporaneously pronounced “Rawley” – ring any bells?) losing his head to a chippy-chippy chopper on a big black block. The crime? Treason!

Who lost his monochrome head this week? Charles (the first) Caroli. How VERY dare he?

Onwards! Sunday saw the expected flat track bullying from both Fev & Broncos – clean sweeps for those games. Pokemon still on for seven of The Fellowship.



8/9 called a ‘Fax win. Atomic called a Swinny winny, maybe more in hope than expectation. A hope that most Leigh fans were secretly harbouring too. But Tommers pulled it out of the fire by foreseeing a Sheffield win at Batley. Atomic recouped his lost points and “The Steelers” stole Bongser’s line that all but the top three got pokemons! The home team are Bat-sards! Hope you lot are as accommodating in three weeks’ time.

So, all that could decide the WWB was the BBQ.

Bongser chose to hedge his bets. Had he not, and merely extrapolated from his Agincourt prediction, he might have been this week’s runaway winner. Hindsight is a great thing. Serves him right – the to$$er!

Only three got any BBQ points, Zools & Cokey two apiece (Cokey just missing out on a second WWB in a row), but Atomic within three got five points and this week’s wreath.
