Is he injured?

He was pretty anonymous yesterday and then came off with half an hour left.

Having Reynolds on the bench makes me wonder if Riddy went into the game carrying an injury.

On the subject of Reynolds I have been impressed with this lad every time I've seen him. IMO we must do whatever we can to keep hold of him.

Reynolds did very, very well when he came on and arguably changed the match. He deserves another first team shot. His whole game yesterday was just what we needed. Impressive in defence too!

Been saying it all season, Riddy is not fast enough for this team. Reynolds was like a breath of fresh air yesterday, zipping along the line, attempting to make a break etc. We need him WITH Ryan.

Reynolds did well yesterday, but Ridyard's been best half back in this league for a while now. May not have as much pace as others, but has the rugby brain and kicking game to complement Brierley. Good that there is competition for places though.

It's always difficult to judge Ridyard, always say you only really see what he does when he's not there doing it by how much worse we usually are without him. However the game plan wasn't quite working yesterday & Renyolds shook it all up and really contributed to getting the win. Wouldn't like to not have Riddy on the pitch next week though.

Reynolds time will come, Riddy's mind is a second ahead of everyone else and this gives him the edge and makes up for his lack in genuine pace.How fast was Wally Lewis and Blake Green to mention 2. Now before anyone says, I am not saying Riddy's as good as them, just the point on pace (lack oOff) and skill

From what I have seen of Ben Reynolds, I think he is going to be a superb half.

More than capable of SL given the right exposure, learning time & guidance from coaching.

He is one of those to get on a long contract early, like Chris Hill was, then should it all go pear shaped & we dont get in SL for a few years, the big clubs will have to pay a ransome to get thim.

The Watcher believes that Reynolds will have to improve his discipline to truly realise all his potential.

As said Reynolds is a fantastic player who moved us round the pitch superbly both in the wigan friendly and when he entered the fray yesterday. A bright prospect

However Riddy simply is a class act. It is his guile and distribution together with his speed of thought that really makes the difference in big games. Watch him closely and it is evident that Ridyard is the Leigh general orchestrating play. Everything goes through him. He also has a good understanding with young Ryan. It is worth noting that our last league defeat came with Riddy sitting out that particular match.

Therefore it is Ridyard who I would pick first on the team sheet for Sunday, if we have genuine aspirations to make the last eight.

Riddy is the type of player you only miss when he's not on the field ,I think Riddy and Ryan are a good combo ,but I agree Ben Reynolds had a good game when he came on.

Think Renyolds will be much like Brierly, starts off as a really skillful player, quick, agile & scores some trys, but eventualy learns over a few seasons how to be more creative and set up trys. Really good to have someone with the skill of Riddy for 2 young up and coming very promising half backs, at two different stages in their development to learn from.

So is he injured or not?

I believe Riddy was at a Christening Sunday before the game, I'm not saying he was drinking but personally I don't think its the best pre match preparation, I guess Rowleys insurance was having Reynolds was on the bench.

I know these type of family/friends functions crop up but for me either Riddy should have been allowed to go and not played or stopped from going, I know this is what happens in pro football you can't mix both.

That's a new one, shouldn't have gone to church on the morning of the game.

The thread is about a possible reason for Riddy's less than usual performance, I gave one possible reason, perhaps I have a different view from most, maybe when you have a family member who can't be with his family on Christmas day as he has to train due to having a game boxing day, or refused time off to attend his aunties wedding as he had a pre-season friendly two days later, kind of tarnishes my view on professional sport set-ups.

Having just watched the game on LCTV I thought he got an arm/shoulder injury early doors. Riddy will be back the lad is class.

Even if he did have a bad game so what everyone allowed a bad game , apart from their try he didn't do anything wrong and he doesn't go winding opposition players up neither he just plays rugby
