| It begs the question have the rules expanded to such a level that it makes it harder to officiate and for new potential fans to understand the game?
Football by contrast is much easier to understand and they don't seem to tinker or add as many rule changes. I suppose if you have followed RL for some time the rules are fully understood but if you haven't I'd imagine it to be very confusing and less appealing to watch at first. Are the rules now too complex (And too open to interpretation) making it harder to attract more kids to follow the sport? If I had a pound for every time someone has said to me "I don't understand rugby". I honestly think half the people in Greater Manchester wouldn't know the difference between league and union.
Football is the biggest sport on the planet because it's easy to understand and all RL want to do is add more rules or keep changing them. It just makes rugby league a sport founded 122 years ago look like a work in progress.

| I think the referees interfere with play too much, they should let things flow rather than blowing up for a penalty every 2 sets....
I miss the shoulder charge and a bit of biff..... the sport is turning soft, you can't even touch a referee on the shoulder without getting a fine and match ban
