Even though he won't play, it will be an excellent experience for Connor.

Hoping to see him in the 1st team more often as he has the quality.

I think he needs a run of games, he has shown in spells that he has some great attributes, good pace and an eye for some space near the try line.

Great experience for him, I think if he plays with confidence he could go on to be a very good player for us. Long way to go yet though.

Strange that. I get that it is a bit of a development tool though, so fair enough. I said half way through the year that I think we let Wrench down a bit. He was picked on the first day of the season, only to be dropped for 15 weeks because Charnley had a shocker.

Granted Mamo locked that spot up and took his chance with both hands, but to abandon plan A so quickly was evidence enough that Price didn’t really trust him.

What this does though, is ours Powell under a bit of pressure. It’s clear that Wane rates him, so if Matautia doesn’t hit the ground running, there will be a pressure from the stands to give the local boy a go.

Very good for his development. He has shown some good attacking touches at left centre. He did play a few games at right centre at the start of the season but he looks a lefty.
I reckon that we will get to like Matautia ... especially in the tough games where there is little space.

He has shown he is capable of beating an opponent with clever footwork so I think he would do well on the wing next seasonI. It would certainly put pressure on Charnley.

Great for Wrench to get a feel for international rugby, even if he doesn't get into 17, and Danny Walker too. It will help the Wire with youth development as it's a good incentive for them both to do well at club level, and for our present and future academy players, who will see there is a pathway to follow.

I think we are also underselling the fact that we have four Warrington-born players in the England squad. For an area that has traditionally competed with football and struggled to produce local RL talent, doesn't this deserve a bit more credit? We used to have to buy all our talent as a club, now we are producing some of the cream of the crop of young talent.

Very good point and with Mike Cooper as captain and Danny Walker vice captain even better.
