| Can't see us going there now with their game against Hull being postponed. We shouldn't be playing this one in my opinion anyway. We're already at 15 the minimum for playoffs and Cats only played 12. Surely they can't make the playoffs now. 5 more positive tests. Absolutely ridiculous to allow specs in for their games when it seems to me they have had more positives than other clubs in UK.

| It's against the spirit of the game but not playing the match should be to our advantage given the way places in the table are now determined. It would be tough to go there and win (especially the way we're currently performing).

| If the Warrington game is also called off that leaves things very tight. Tough game or not, we needed to go there and win.

| I agree KP but IF we have aspirations of reaching the play offs and taking it and being taken seriously IF we are crowned champions then the answer isn't to duck out because there's a chance we might get beat especially in a four pointer IMO.
Imagine the furore.....it wasn't a proper season, it wasn't at OT under the floodlights AND you swerved a trip to the South of France

| Who swerved whom in the postponed Wigan vs. Catalan match? One of them would have lost.

| This match will give us an idea if we are good enough to be taken seriously as contenders. No point ducking the issue.

| The wigan catalans postponement was very dodgy. We turned up without 7 and Wakefield have been playing when barely able to cobble a team together. Was it two Wigan players that tested positive? That game could/should've gone ahead.

| Let's just get all these games played no matter what
It's abit of a dead rubber season ie Toronto, covid, teams playing each other 3 times, limited games played and a very contentious win/lose % league table.
Scrap the top 4. Top 2 play each other at the Halliwell jones Stadium in the final, deal done, finished, roll on the Nfl.

| Ive asked the question as to why the goons v Cats match was called off as there was only 1 Covid case.
Doubt I'll get a reply...

I could live with all of those criticisms thrown at us, and be extremely amused by it all for many years to come.

| For me , I smell a rat. Personally I would prefer to play all the matches, but I think other teams are using the covid card to their advantage. So I think we should follow their lead. Call off the difficult games, to avoid the potential slip up and play the potentially easier games to improve our percentages, just like certain other teams appear to be doing.

| It would be interesting to know how the Covid testing is being done. Is it done independently, or is it done 'in-house' by clubs, with the results then reported without any independent verification? You would hope, for the sake of integrity, that it was the former, but then again, this is rugby league.

| Bin off the Catalans game! We don't need to go over there...at a high risk to catching Covid and key players getting injuries. We have 15 in the bag...we owe rat boy and his cronies nothing!

| Catalans like wakefield are riddled. It feels like half the team tests positive or has to isolate on a near weekly basis.

Screen4 are the preferred testing partner for SL clubs, so it is an independent organisation - so it says at the bottom of the COVID updates on the Superleague website at any rate.

I suspect that Screen4 will test the swabs sent to them for testing only.
The swabs will be taken by a club member, and then sent to Screen4 for analysis.
Hence swabs could easily be contaminated with CoVid 19 deliberately by a club, if it chose to............

| Well........... If I was in charge of Les Cats I would be thinking that I had a pretty good chance of making the top four play off. So,I would go ahead with the Wire game unless I had a silly number of withdrawals, and then aim to pick off just two more games to make the 15 required.
I don't know where we would stand, whether or not we could refuse to play because we might be putting our players at risk ? I guess that could be countered by having the whole Cats squad re-tested on the Monday morning.

| Catalan have played 12 games and have 4 further fixtures scheduled, including Warrington on Monday. If they don't fulfil at least 3 of those, and given the COVID situation that must now be a real risk, then they cannot make the Playoffs. Assuming that Monday’s game is called off, and that Catalans can fulfil their remaining 3 fixtures, then it’s in our hands. We need to lose less games than Catalans or Leeds in the run in. If we lose the same number of games then we would have a higher win % than Catalans (who will play fewer games) and the same win % as Leeds who have an inferior points difference.
It would be nice if our friends from St Helens, for whom we have shown the greatest respect on this forum over the years, were to do us a favour by beating Leeds tonight, Catalans on Bonfire Night, then fielding a weakened side against us in the final game since they will have already clinched the LLS.
