Now then if ever a defeat against Wigan could have an element or two of positivity perhaps this was it down to 12 and for a small part 11 we still carried a threat and there was no doubting our effort more of the same (effort not indiscipline) will see us win more than we lose shirley.
To add insult to injury this week's winner was predictably King Ross 11 who amassed 17 points built largely upon the reliability of Marshall, Hill and Kendal. The rest of us fared as follows
27pts King Ross 11
9pts karetaker Uncle Rico, AC Wire
8pts Longbarn Wire Vespid Wire
7pts Matt King's kitten matt6169

In simple terms 'Oh we of little faith' as more than a few of us opted for a Saints victory and I'm sure that we were more than pleased to be proved wrong? Talking of faith I'm trusting posters and there's more than one or two, that they meant Hull FC when tipping Hull this will be a one off in future hedging your bets will results in nil points no matter who wins...
Anyway enough of the negativity who came out on top I hear you say? Well this week the honour goes to Walter Wizard who conjured 13 points on what ended up as a short and stormy affair (the postponed fixture can be re-predicted when rearranged). The rest of us were more Barry White than Gandolf the White as follows

Well I suppose a win is a win when all said and done, take the two and move on might just sum up the general mood.
Unless of course you are Gaz3376 and MorePlaymakersNeeded who will still be grinning and no doubt basking in the warm glow of Prediction Comp Glory whilst the rest of us attempt to take ever cooling comfort that we'll have another chance soon enough

Uncle Rico's ploy of being MIA again pays off as Wire secure a narrow victory but who in addition to Pre CV Tyrolean um pah bars profited the most I hear you ask? A momentous evening, Wire break their run of away 'form' and no sign of dither from Hull FC's Chairman as Coach Radford didn't even make the aftermatch press conference. Who was this week's winner I hear you ask? Well Rugby was the winner and I don't mean the sport in general despite Wigan's second half woes but Rugby the Forum's very own Roger Bannister who timed his prediction run to perfection with 8 points...the rest of us limped home as follows

On reflection I don't know what I thought about Saturday's performance, it was a strange game but then again it probably wasn't given the circumstances and nature of the other results, the disjointed preparation for a first run out, rule tweaks, the 'Albuquerque' heat and KR being coached by their very own Heisenberg freed from the shackles of potential relegation.
Sure it lacked a bit of quality particularly in the first half but overall I was grateful to see a return and two points.
Talking of points, our biggest 'taker' this week was Gaz3376 with 14 the rest of us are still finding our feet as follows,

They say that a week is a long time in politics and the same can be said of the Prediction Competition with a reversal of fortunes for CW8 who came out on top mainly thanks to correctly plumping for Wigan by 18.Unless you are Wigan royalty the rest of us were obviously and 'correctly' hoping for a smaller margin so didn't fare as well as follows

A bit closer than last week but the score was never in doubt was it despite Catalans 'putting their cue in the rack' and some late points from the rhubarb munchers. Everyone picked the winners this week (is it me or is it becoming increasingly easier to dislike Catalans) but prediction points were all about timing with King Ross 11, karetaker, Wanderer and Uncle Rico all correctly plumping for 6 minutes. The rest of you were obviously using Hilda Baker's watch so were off with their timing as follows

| I didn’t know you were doing the cc in the comp now. I didn’t even look as I don’t think it was included before. Lost out there.

| We've always included the Challenge Cup perhaps the mix up is the disrupted fixtures and we weren't playing?

| a) Score and Winning team: Warrington 36 v 0 Wakefield
b) First try (Wire player): King
c) Time of first try: 18 mins
d) Last try (any team, player not time): Austin
e) Kicks over the sticks (combined): 6
f) Wigan v Castleford Wigan by 8
Leeds v Salford Leeds by 38
Hull KR v St Helens St Helens by 14
Huddersfield v Hull FC Hull FC by 19
What's not to like? A win that makes up for that early season loss in the reverse fixture, sees us nilling an admittedly under strength opponent, with Austin looking something like in a game where both teams threw the ball about and a win that keeps us up there hanging onto Wigan's coat tails near the top of the table
Who profited most I hear you ask......it was Wire Weaver with an unlucky for everyone else 13 points the rest of us were bamboozled by a combination of Salford's poor showing Hull FC's continued roller-coasting and the length of time it took for either team to to score a try. ah well there's always next week???

Must try harder, but in my defence I never tip pies to win, they could be playing against an under 8 s team and I will tip or hope the 7 year olds to win also I always score maximum points when guessing the attendance and that’s been taken away lol

| As you know your unswerving resolve in not backing Wigan is costing you predictions points unfortunately. Let's hope that you get get a bit of good fortune soon

Definitely a case of "Oh me of little faith" didn't see that coming unlike most of you on here and of course our staff and 17 players...brilliant. and happy to be in the wrong (don't tell Auntie Rico).
Most people picked out us Castleford and Saints to pick up the prediction points, but the bonus 10 this week goes to rubber duckie for correctly imagining that Mike Cooper would be going over first MorePlaymakersNeeded came a valiant 2nd place with Austin putting him in contention till Salford let him down. Another great victory for a depleted Warrington side really enjoyed that there does seem to be some spirit in the camp from senior players, the younger lads and those on the fringe. Our Gaz came out top with 9 points the rest of us were Powell-esque in the glumness stakes by varying degrees as follows

You wouldn't want to be Coach Powell's dog this week would you as Classy Cas were knocked out of the Challenge Cup....just what do the Prediction Pools Panel know? Nowt it seems as they had them as Cup winners and sitting pretty in 2nd place in the league FOOLS!!

A great performance this weekend against St Helens long may this continue Without wishing to put the mockers on it when do we officially have a big game hoodoo over them? Talking of great performances now that we've a bit of cohesive attacking threat will this week's Prediction Comp winner be satisfied with our Playmakers as it was our boards almanac MorePlaymakersNeeded who triumphed with 13 well earned.
