Philbin did short minutes and Murdoch-Masilla was good but he’s not fit, GKing was ineffective and Patton didn’t play.

Would you have Atkins on the bench to bring a bit of pace and power on the middle for ten minutes at the end of each half? Would you play Patton (having two hookers on at once can speed up the PTB)?

I know we didn’t use Patton and some would go with another forward on the bench but I can’t get 2013 out my head.

I don't see the point of naming Patton, if he's not going to get action until the 70th minute (bar an injury)

After watching last night I think it's fairly sure we could loose at least one to injury, or 10 mins on the side lines. They are masters of the dark arts at the PTB!
Bateman when making a tackle stands very close to the player as they stand and puts his hand on the back of there head, pushes down and as last night on a few occasions shots around, he is just niggles and pushes it to the limit. He got away with it all night didn't get penalised once. Don't start me on Olocklin !
How many times did a Wigan player get tackled where it was 50/50 yet they all file in and suck the ref into giving a penalty!

I dont think we should loose a forward from the bench though. GK may not have set the world alight but it couldn't be said he had a bad game. No one did.
Akauola shouldn't come in either. Not unless BMM isn't right, but then potentially you could argue for Atkins.

I think atkins should be in the team. He is one of our big game players who more often than not produces in finals. But I don't think we ca. Win with only 2 props on the bench. If he is to play t King to miss out which will be harsh. I'm not sure I can see price dropping King at such a late stage tho.

I think had we been chasing the game Patton would have come on to the pitch, both Wigan and ourselves won our semis playing within ourselves and a player on the bench who can change the game. Not to have played him if we didn't need to was a smart move with one eye on the final

So as for the ref it’s going to be Hicks or Thaler, not Thaler for me.

Can't drop Toby, for me he is our best all round centre now. We could drop a second row for atkins to cover there and also our bank line should we need to reshuffle after a number of cannonballs. For example if ratch is taken out then Goodwin to FB and atkins to centre, one change needed. Pretty much the same with the entire backline. It would be harsh to drop anyone that played on Thursday really.

I'm not sure I'd change anything really, I'm not sure we have the players fit to, we need BMM to be fit though, he seems to have been struggling for a couple of months now but is possibly the best impact player we have had since Solomona.

There must have been a plan for early injury to an outside back v St Helens. My guess is that Hughes or Thompson would have gone to Centre and that Goodwin would move. This had to be so that G King could be included as an extra forward.

Patton has to play in case we lose Clark early on.
My preference would be to bring in Atkins for G King. But I wouldn't think the plan that we had for the Semi will change. I think it's risky.
