| I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie will still be chewing over last weeks bone & reminding all God fearing Wire fans that we shouldn't even be in the final.
I for one will not be listening.

| Yes I was fed up in 87, we got them in so many finals. I went every one plus league fixtures and the Locker cup.i think we might have won the Locker Cup for what it was worth. I've hated them more than any other team ever since, before that period it was Widnes

I think its fair to say the majority of FC fans will be shouting for you. Apart from one or two sour individuals you've been very gracious in your praise of our lads. Good luck on SAturday.

Same here. I sometimes wonder just what we would have won throughout the 80's/early 90's had wigan not been the overwhelmingly dominant force that they were.

| Not only did they beat us in the finals but they took our best players. The only player they could not take from us was Mike Greg. The strange thing was they could not beat us in league in 1987

| I still remember us battering them when they had just return from relegation. I was still in awe of Alex and went early to catch him and get his autograph.
I think it was the last game at home in the spring of the 81/82 season.
The year following Alex took all our pack to Wigan. We struggled to beat them ever since.
In truth Sir Alex fecked us up big style.

| Doesn't the locker cup count then? There was a trophy involved after all.
Aaah the Locker Cup, lots of memories. A proper friendly, not this cast-of-thousands, turn up early enough and you'll get a game nonsense we have now. Full strength Wire and Wigan teams knocking lumps out of each other and a debut or two thrown in for good measure.
One such debut, the incomporable John Woods, gave us the treasured sight of John effortlessly creaming Ellery Hanley straight from a scrum which remains one of my fave ever Wire memories, so thank you to Lockers.
Talking of John, have you seen that statue at Leigh they've done of him? It's appalling and they've used far too much bronze in the trouser department if you ask me, not that I'm in a position to judge, you understand.

| I'll take the home win in Sept 2011, when we beat them in our penultimate game, leapfrogging them into top spot, before securing the LLS at Hull.

| From the age of between 10-30 I witnessed loss after loss to Wigan in finals or semi finals. We would have to play them in the grand final and CC Final for the next 4 years and hammer them every time to start to erase those memories.
My memory might be playing tricks on me here but I am sure I remember being in a pub around Burden Park before a JP final hearing that Andy Gregory would not be playing because he was about to sign for Wigan who then went on to beat us. I also remember being on a ferry coming back from holiday when a pie eater told me that they had signed Billy McGinty.
Old Trafford, Burden Park, McAlpine stadium, Maine Rd, Wembley and Halton stadium (2004 balanced out by 2009) are places that I have pretty bad memories playing Wigan.
As a great man once said "ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind". I am looking forward to the GF (and Craig Charles in the build up) but another defeat in a big game would add further ghosts.

should have been awarded a penalty try in that game as well... Mark Roberts tackled without the ball just as he's about to score from a kick thru on the line - playing as hooker if I remember rightly!
