I sincerely hope this isn't a permanent thing for Laithwaite. Before his injury he was a solid player. He didn't offer much in attack but his defense was superb. I don't think he offers andy less than say Jack Hughes who is probably om more money.

To be honest I heard a rumour he was on his way a while back. I am surprised anyone is willing take a chance on Gaz wheeler to be honest.

Maybe Wheeler is going on the coaching staff ,he is apparently a skilled player if kept fit so he should have plenty of knowledge to pass on. Be interesting to see who is coming in for next season with this deck clearing exercise.

I wish them both all the best, wheeler is talented but really unfortunate. Laithwaite is cover and so the move makes sense for him, WWW Hughes is a far, far better player than Laithwaite.

Have to agree with Cat on this one, sorry to see Laithwaite going. Would he have made it if he hadn't picked up that bad injury. I think if I was Wheeler though I would pack in the sport altogether - somebody up there has decided he is never going to be injury free.

Shame for Laithwaite. Until his injury he was a regular in the 17 but since then we've brought Hughes and Westerman in and players like G King and Julienne have kicked in nicely. All this means he is now way down the pecking order. I'm sure he'll make a solid Super League second rower though, about the level of Tyrone McCarthy. Wouldn't bet against him come back at some point.

Can't feel too sorry for them though, it's a pretty sweet gig. Good luck to the pair of them.
