Just like too thank Warrington & Tony smith for letting Chris riley play yesterday its was very sporting of them and they didn't Av too . We have always had a good relationship with Warrington as a few years ago when we had financial trouble u loaned us sum players .always look forward to coming to Warrington and was good game and nice to get a win for a change.so thanks again

I'll never forget the help Smith gave our club when we came out of admin and put all the vultures to shame. Like Wildcat Andy has said I too enjoy away days at Warrington as it's a cracking stadium with cracking fans.

I wonder if there was an element of "we will beat Wakey anyway, may as well let Riley have some game time" to this decision. It did surprise me that an on-loan player was playing against us!

I am happy that he played though and that he did well.

Kind of like when we let Sid Domic go to Wakefield so that we could keep Appo.

Tony Smith stated in the RL press that he felt it would have been churlish for us to block RIley from playing, given the amount of time he had spent there. He also stated he thought RIley was a great bloke and everyone at the club loved him.

It was a very honest, dignified statement and I don't think there was ever any ulterior motive, or any other intention than being sporting and fair-minded.

I completely expected this to say "thank you Mr Smith for taking Mr Agar off our hands!"

why didn't we target Chris with high bombs like opposing teams used to do against us.

& get the chasing ( second row ) to knock him into next week !
Remember watching Menzies ( catalan ) do this - thinking that's sporting pick on the smallest bloke on the pitch.

That's called rugby league. You sit watching them during the week then exploit any weaknesses which you can find. I don't think that being the smallest bloke on the field has ever hindered Rob Burrow.

I think it is very gracious to thank TS for his largesse.
It is expected, I suppose, that there would be no such grace from Widnes but with fans like WidnesJohn what can you expect.

TBF I don't think Riley's inclusion was a game breaker anyway. Yes he got a good hatrick and well done but all his tries were made infield and would have been scored by any half decent wingman.

However still a great gesture by Mr Smith.
