latest rumour on SS is that he's unhappy at having the Rhinos fullback spot (apparently promised to him after Webb's retirement) given to Hardaker, so is wanting away from Headingley, with Tom Briscoe joining us and Jones-Bishop cmoing to you guys.

Been hearing he is coming to us for the last few weeks now....

He wouldn't get the fb gig here, so if he's peeved at that he'll be more so when he realises he's back on the wing.

Are those rumours the same as the ones about Sinfield following Tony Smith to Warrington?

I suppose it all depends on where TS see's Ratchfords future....?

I've always had it in mind that Ratchford would take over the full back spot from hodgson when he left, as I rate him as a better full back than stand off. Granted I haven't seen a great deal of BJB in the full back position, but my preference would be Ratch I think.

ratch is best at 1 or 6, at a push he's a pretty good centre, but keep him away from 7, his worst(less good shall we say) games have been when he's been partnering briers.

i reckon he could be a very very capable replacement for bert, his broken field running is top notch, just needs to run direct a bit better.

TS loves utility players, and will know BJB pretty well. And we are short of a 3/4 imo, not a forward as per the Kirmond rumour. Hetherington flatly denied this rumour several weeks ago (Yorkshire Evening Post ?), but then he is an ex double glazing salesman. So I think this one is a strong possibility.

I would have assumed that Ratchford will replace Briers for you guys at Stand Off, given that's where he played for Salford. Would then seem likely for BJB to slot in at full back.

I suspect TS will not see it quite as straightforward as that. If we get an injury to a winger, BJB can cover the position. Similarly it gives him two players in BJB and Ratch that can cover FB. It means he has far greater flexibility for covering lengthy injuries to his other players. BJB will also bring pace to the squad, and we lack that at times, particularly going length of field.

If it goes ahead, I think this would be a really good signing for us.

A rumour that keeps resurfacing. Still can't see it happening though.
