Who do we all think will make the shortlist for awards this year.
my picks are Danny houghton, Brett ferres and micky higham.
sure Sam Tomkins will make it on to the list as well, but feel he has not played a lot of games in regular rounds.
young player list would be ben crooks, ben currie and hardacker from Leeds.

if tomkins gets it then its totally undeserved..for me brough or higham are the only stand out players this season

I've heard from a good source at the RFL that the nominations are

Not really but wouldn't put it past them.

Danny Brough will win it. Higham as outstanding as i think he has been, wont get it. Brough the stand out winner for me.

What's with the puzzlement? They've both been very good this year from the games I've seen.

Brough will no doubt be on the shortlist but he has been anonymous in all three games that we have played against Huddersfield this season and for that reason he wouldn't make my top 3.

I must admit to being surprised at how well Jamie Peacock has played this season, he has been superb for Leeds.

Brett Ferres has been quality at Huddersfield as has Danny Houghton at Hull FC.

Sean O'Loughlin is the man who makes Wigan tick for my money and Micky Higham has played the best rugby of his career for us this season.

My short list of 3 would be:

Sean O'Loughlin
Micky Higham
Jamie Peacock

Both good players, yes. But man of steel contenders? Not a chance. What happened to Eddie and Stevo saying Danny Kirmond had a good shout of being in the running for it?

Hard to see past Brough, even though he has been totally owned everytime we have played them this season.

Brough, Peackock, Higham would be my top 3.

Peacock for me. He's been fantastic for Leeds this year, really led from the front.

Jamie Peacock has been immense this season. Not seen him have a bad game; Brough has had a few shockers.
