We will need a massive game from our forwards. If we get on top, we have got more than enough out wide to take the two points, think it will be good to see if the Myler/Ratch partnership comes on some more too.........Briers cannot go on forever!!

There's other things that are true too but not announced, such as Paul Wood joining Wigan. It must be true, because I've read it on here (several times over the past few years!)

What is true is that Lee can't go on for ever....no doubt about that!

i am not saying that he is leaving at the end of the year only that this is his last playing contract with warrington,players can't go on forever and we will be making signings for 2014 to replace a couple of current players who are at the end of their careers.

Hard fact is without Briers we are not trophy contenders. We are about where sides like Hull and Catalans are.

When Briers is not here we need to sign a world class halfback, and if we can't (and there might not be any available) then we will have to accept that that is where we are - a team that is decent but not in the mix for trophies.

there are some "world class" halfbacks that will become available to fill the huge void that lee will leave when he stops playing,i don't think we will have a problem with his replacement,it will certainly be a high profile signing and added to the squad we have we will certainly be in the mix for trophys.
for this season we should still enjoy the mercurial talents of lee briers while we still can.

Early days yet Sally. Whilst I'm not saying we've won a game without Briers so this means we don't need him. As Tony Smith has said during an interview this week, Ratchford put two Briers type passes out to Joel that resulted on tries. Ratchford gives me confidence as a full back for a replacement for Hodgson but we are safe in the knowledge that he can do a jod at stand off. he has a decent kicking game and is a handfull with ball in hand. Am I right in saying Hodgson got a two year contract where Briers only got one year? If this is right then maybe Ratchford may replace Briers in the short term if dare i say it, Briers is released at the end of the season. It's a nice problem to have where we have players with the ability to play well in a number of positions as we may not find Ratchfords more favoured position for a season or so yet.
To a man all will need to stand up and show the same spirit as was on display against Catalans when we play on Saturday. We have big players missing and it's going to be an opportunity for some players to lay a marker down for a weekly spot in the 17.

But what if next year Saints have Roby, Wigan have Tomkins and Leeds have Sinfield...?

I'm not bothered who that lot have got. I also believe that Tony Smith won't be bothered too. We have enough quality now to make our opposition worry about us and where we can score from.

where has it been reported that this is his last PLAYING season? who is to say that he won't go on for another year? I am not saying he will or won't beplaying next season but you seem certain that he won't so I wonder where the info has come from?
