| One of my fondest pre-super league memories is of nights in the Touchdown Club under the main stand at Wilderspool, particularly player of the year award nights.
Anyone remember those do's? Drinking alongside the players and directors was probably a powder keg concept but the camararderie was wonderful, and I had many happy nights (so I'm told).
My favourite personal memory is of igniting a box of matches in the rear pocket of my pants when I accidentally slipped and fell on the dancefloor whilst "energetically" dancing. This caused me to skid across the floor with Mark Forster-esque pace (as you may gather, a large amount of booze had been imbided) whereupon the friction caused smoke and sparks to emit from my ar*e with considerable pyrotechnic effect.
If the lady who was dancing with me at the time is reading, I sincerely apologise for any distress caused.
What other memories do people have of those halycon nights? (Lancs Fed nights were another good night).

| I was a bit young to go in the club but we used to stand/sit on that side before it was condemned.

That would be the Leisure Centre side. Wasn't the Touchdown club the same side as the changing room. Took the kids to a few pre-season presentations/Wolfpack nights there around Valentines day.

| My memories of the touchdown club include:
-prematch meetup and pint (although didn't always go in there, saracens head and causeway were more usual);
-meeting in there prior to the 2001 touch rugby day where the whole squad joined in. The team I was in got allocated Lee Briers and Sid Domic! Playing alongside them on the hallowed Wilderspool turf was great fun and a great memory to have.
-a packed room in 2002 saw the launch of the new Warrington Wolves Supporters Trust and Squadbuilder. I joined on the night, although my greater involvement didn't come until a couple of years later;
-several SqB meetings in there getting great up to date new stadium info and progress news. Seems strange thinking what we now know as the HJ used to be simply "the new stadium" and for a while it was touch and go whether it was going to happen;
-a SqB meeting where if I recall correctly a player didn't turn up so Paul Darbyshire did a Q&A more or less on his own and was really good

| I remember two things from touchdown...
1) Being at a charity night (dont know what for but RL related) when a friend auctioned for a Iestyn Harris Wales polo t-shirt, she didn't want to go over a tenner for it, and the shock only kicked in as the hammer went down on her winning bid of nearly 60!!
2) Going to a McDonalds xmas party when I didnt even work (or never have) for McDonalds!
On a side note can someone give me the heads up on when the regular off season "player spoted at Tesco garage (in Kevin Sinfields car)" post will be starting

I recall being at an auction for Cull's testomonial at the touchdown and bidding for Mike Greg's British Coal GB tracksuit. I got it, can't remember how much I paid for it (again, I was the wrong side of a few of the old falling down juice so I suspect alot but it was a good cause and it WAS Sir Mike's) but, given that I'm 5Ft 9 and was 10 stone wet through at the time I can't say I got to wear it that much. Three house moves later alas, it's disappeared.

| I remember watching the BskyB games in there from time to time, one being when Phil Sumner rumbled 50 yards for a try at Hull.
