I listened to the first game of the season on Radio Humberside. It was hard to work out who Hull were playing against at times, apart from the referee. It took a while to work out if Westwood had converted the last minute conversion.

To be fair I was at the game and thought he favoured Wire.
I also thought the VR should have cancelled out Westwoods try and should not have cancelled out the Leeds try that Kylie allegedly obstructed a Wire player.
For me Kylie did not stop the defender nor did he make contact so try every time.
But no doubt if I watched from the comfort of my lounge I would probably have a different view.

As has been said elsewhere? The Leuluai obstruction and Higham offside were correct by the letter of the law but seem to lack common sense. Higham wasn't involved and Kylie didn't block anyone.

The "active" rule in football creates all sorts of problems so not sure that's the way forward but the rule needs looking at IMO.

The ref was pretty spot on tbh.

The Briers 'forward pass' and the Hands in the play of the ball that was quickly changed to an offside was another big mistake. other than that they were tiny.

to be fair if i was going to write a wire match report it would be the most one-eyed, over blown wire love-in and would be entirely disparaging to the other team

i remember the commentator from the video highlights on the old warrington site would literally be shouting things like "com on wire!" and i don't think it ever crossed my mind that i wanted him to be less biased

Your absolutely right Tino, with one caveat. I think in the main Rugby League people are fair minded, just browsing the pages of this forum will prove that.
However tribal attitudes that exist in football should be challenged, or our game will go down the football route, god forbid.
I note that RL teams who also have big football teams in their town are far more tribal than the none football towns.
