Just like to say what has come of society is a disgrace in some quarters. The amount of abuse aimed at some players on twitter is completely unacceptable I.e sam Tompkins & Richie mathers.

If you check out the twit that was doing it, he seems to have just spend his time on twitter selecting sportsmen for his abuse. He finds it really funny and obviously thinks that because someone plays a sport he a fair target.

I really enjoy twitter, but what I have seen over the last few weeks makes me so mad. Last week I saw a person abuse a young girl on there, but other Warrington fans quickly stepped in and reported him. He promptly disappeared and was not heard from again. I have now decided to block anyone who is over abusive, as for you Sam I would love for TS or someone else to take him in hand and teach him how to be a good sport, because I know he is a decent young man off the pitch. and you know what he is someone's son.

I just cannot get my head around people who openly abuse people regardless of who they are or what they have done, simply because they can from the safety of their screen. If you wouldnt say it to the person when stood in front of them, why would you online?

Sam Tomkins may be annoying on the pitch, but abusing him is just stupid and wrong.

Why do we have so many rude people around. I hope people read TS article in the programme today and take note, why can't we become the club who's fans are looked up to.

Mathers is a head down enthusiastic person and has never rubbed anyone up the wrong way (apart from the king red caed) unless you are a softcock fropm wigan. Even worse, they are abusing his family. Which is a no-no imo.

They get their egos massaged by having their thousands of followers hanging on every boring word they say....so they will have to accept that some of those followers will be 'broken Britain'

The funniest was Tomkins' reply to some girl that tweeted him earlier. Seems he's deleted it now though.

It pathetic but inevitable that Twitter (same as internet message boards) represents a cross-section of society, which inevitably means you are gonna get some morons/trolls. They do it simply for the reaction with no thought for the hurtful consequences. If you can believe it I got abuse from a random stranger about my special needs daughter on Twitter. While I agree that sending personal abuse to people is disgusting and wrong, people in the public eye should know that if they use something as open-access as Twitter then they are going to have to deal with the fakes and trolls as well as the nice, genuine people. Twitter isn't like Facebook, anyone can read your tweets and send tweets to you unless you set your account to private. If these players want to use Twitter but don't want to deal with the morons then maybe that's the course of action they should take.
