Interesting capitalisation there

I quite like the way this advert is worded, instead of the usual bland "must have sufficient experience and ability to motivate high achievers and work flexibly in a high performance environment" type speak it says "old fashioned qualities including honesty, integrity and commitment are practised daily and the applicant must show these in abundance."

If you read Mike Gregory's book where he is talking about his brief time as Wigan coach he says he wanted to bring some values to the club, from the way players approached training to the way they conducted themselves around the town, he was very big on honesty and integrity and the players respected him for it and he brought young players like Hock, O'Loughlin, Briscoe through well.

The Pies are trying to make a brand out of their history and associating it with good values so good luck to them for it, I'm sure that would be a good job to have to work with the young talent they have.

Interestingly I have just been to a coaching workshop with John bastion. He talked a lot about the clubs philosophies and good people was mentioned in just about every sentence. Discipline and dedication featured pretty highly as well.

It certainly all bodes to developing top talent in the mid to long term.

I'm fascinated by coaching; not so much in sport but more how it applies outside that arena to 'everyday' workplaces. I'd loved to have gone to the Tony Smith one.

As an aside, and as someone who has (understandably) had concerns about the club's interaction with amateur RL in the past - are you happy with how the coaching clinics etc are working?
