Don't underestimate the part he played in the win tonight. Massive difference between going in at 12-6 up to 8-6. No other kicker we've had in recent years(or ever) would have made those two conversions. Psychologically I think it played a big part in Wigan loosing their composure, and hence any chance they had of getting back into the game.

I fancied him to get all his kicks tonight. With him you expect to see the flags go up when he's got a touchline conversion, and its not just out of hope.

It must play on the opposition's minds. In the past a try out wide was only worth 4, now it's 6. Impossible to see from where we were if it had gone over or not. But looking at the motionless Wigan fans behind the sticks as the ball made it's way, told me all I needed to know.

I had every confidence in him, and so must the rest of the players.

A few raised eyebrows when his signing was announced, but I tihnk we have moved on another level in that position.

Kicking wise there is possibly only Richards who can match him, on last years form anyway

Hodgson was never going to be a gamble he was class at every club he was at in the NRL and is still class now.

The main arguments against him were why are we signing an ageing old Aussie instead of giving a young lad like Rhys Evans a chance? It's like when we signed Hicks would we not have been better giving Chris Riley a go in the first team?

Everyone thought we was mad for sighning him,top kicker cool head on cool shoulders.

The missing gem in our quest for the title, IMO. The best kicker in SL also.

Absolutely superb again. Those two kicks in the first half were excellent and so important. As already said he is like having an extra half back when attacking - something that sadly Mathers could never do for us.

obviously he is getting towards the end of his career, but if wire can get another 18 months or so out of the old warhorse then good luck to them, hodgy was great for hudds and we were sad to see him leave

Hodgson is not only a class fullback with a huge kicking talent BUT he is at a club with a lot of youngster coming through. There is nothing better than learning a talent from "class". Im sure he will be working with other players to improve their goal kicking.

Historically we would have kicked 1 from the first 3 considering the difficulty of each conversion and 14-6 isnt nearly as comfortable as 18-6.

My Mrs said last night - 'you lot need a goal kicker like that, if he's kicking to win you a final in the last few minutes, you will be confident he'll do it'....someone please quote that back at me one day.....

More than a kicker though, another guy that tackles above his weight, not scared of the hit up, and works bloody hard....

I hold my hands up and admit that I was wrong. I questioned his signing, but goal kicking alone has made a huge difference.

Goal kicking is immense, defence fantastic (very safe) & he joins the line like an extra half back, thats why Smithy bought him to replace Mathers!

He will be the reason we win the Grand final. My mystic meg is coming out. And after that. My DP will be Brett Holding the super league trophy aloft!

He's taught Myler "to play with his eyes" as well.

You can say that again. And we heard there were repercussions inside the club, he was that well thought of. Glad he is playing well for you and yes, he has won by kicking a touchline goal in the dying seconds. Awesome, enjoy his talents whilst you can.

i was livid with him first two games of the season, now he4's played with the side and got to know them, we've got to know him, he's fitted in superbly.

Can he keep it up and get a 2nd man of steel?
