God i'm bored

Looking forwards to pre season friendlies as I'm not going to be able to attend many matches this year (due to being at university). Hoping for Leigh again as my mate is a Leyther and I love the banter!

Boxing day was due to be a HJ this year but they are relaying the picthc so thats a no go. There is some on the Halifax board saying they would like a game Warrington v Halifax with money going towards the two hospitals that are takings care of the halifax fan that was attacked at the GFs day.

Sounds like a good idea, was at Fax for Leigh away earlier in the year, twas the match when they finally opened the new stand and it is a good day out. Can't see many people bothering to trek over the pennines to stand in the freezing cold for a PSF though sadly..

Its not exactly the other side of the world.....

........45 minute drive isn't that far if you are really that desparate to watch some rugby....

I completely agree, but keep in mind that there was next to nobody at Leigh last year and that's just a stone's throw away, you can even use your WBT bus pass!

I thought there was alot of wire fans at leigh i was there and it looked nearly full

To be fair the turnout wasn't that bad, but if we can only fill half a stand when we play a neighbouring town I don't hold much hope for one on the wrong side of the Pennines.

The Pennines ain't exactly the Andes you know??.....There's even quite a well built road that passes over them??.....

Yeah but over Xmas and New year theres always a motorway or road shut, and with the winter weve got predicted i wouldnt fancy heading there, especially when Widnes / Leigh/ Saints / Wigan could and probably would arrange something. Its bad enough paying over £10 to see a team of kids run around in the p*ss pouring rain and cold, never mind a long, cold trip over the pennines.

Boxing day, home or away vs a local team will do me fine.

If a game is arranged, I'm there but you're bob on... Keep it local at that time of year!

maybe play Halifax and raise money for refurb of the ladies loos in the west stand thanks to fag ash lil's sneaky fag smoking

As a pre season friendly, i think we should have a mini 4 team league
Wire
Wigan
Widnes
Saints

Only 3 games, the fans would love it, it would give it some slight meaning and it means widnes get to play 3 big boys.

Better than a pointless friendly against someone like Whitehaven (no disrespect intended)
It would gee up a bit of intensity in what are usually pretty flat games.

change Saints for Salford, losing twice a year to Saints is enough for me

Agreed, change Saints. Afterall we dont want arguements as to who gets "home field" advantage when they play Widnes do we!
