Its a strange one this because as dangerous as the lad is going forward especially when he has ball in hand and space to run into, his defence is suspect to say the least. Its like the Ainscough situation we regulary have on our board were the argument is does his attack out weigh his defence?

I think you should keep Penny, and hopefully you will have King working with him to make him that SL winger he has the potential to be.

He's on contract and is still a big talent if he was to go we should get a decent fee for him, rather keep him though.

He asked the club in the winter if they wanted to let him go they told him no.

I don't see the point of him playing U20's he is way too good for that level, but is probably 4th choice winger at best in SL.

I would be happy for him to go out on a dual reg or laon but not to let him go.

TBH if he were to go I would expect another SL club to sign him.

We should be looking at shipping in overseas players that have an all round solid as a rock top class game and bed into the team straight away like Matt king, Francis Meli, Amos Roberts, (another long list)

yeah a wingers first duty .......... first..... is to be fast and score tries......

So it makes complete sense to ship out the fastest winger to have played SUPERLEAGUE in recent years......

seriously the wingers I mentioned are all ten a Penny if you pardon the pun.....Sheriffe Gardner Reardon Ainscough,etc even Saints fans dont have much patience left with Meli or Gardner and theyve played in succesful sides...

Peter fox who is probably going to be a regular in the England side has extremely dodgy positional play and is unlike Penny Actually not very good under a high ball.

Penny has played alongside a woeful Matt king and Chris Bridge trying to find a position for himself. I think He deserves some time to develop.

If this happens it would free up a fair wedge out of our salary cap which would allow us to bring in someone of real quality (something that KP isn't ) it would improve the team IMO lets just prey it happens

I think Kevin Penny deserves another chance with the Wire. He's the one player over the last 10 years that has given the crowd genuine excitement and no one can argue that he has scored some fabulous tries.

As FB says above I personally think he was a victim of Matt King and Chris Bridge struggling to play together and for form and as an inexperienced player he was caught out. His confidence was shot and he probably needed to reconstruct himself as a player. I think in TS we have a coach who can do this, who isn't afraid to loan players out for experience and to keep them close when he needs to. KP I'm sure will get his chance again in the Primrose and Blue and I for one will be supporting him when he does.

For all the accolades trown his way when he burst on the scene, he is a young lad who came late to the game and has massive improvements in him. His greatest asset is not just his pace but the way he can beat men when he has the ball. Positioning, tackle technique etc can all be taught but that natural flair cannot.

As has been said above a wingers job is to score first and foremost and he is damn good at that.

I don't know but it is more than he is worth ! no matter how much or how little he is on .
