11,600. There was definately more than 11.6k there tonight. The South Stand was packed, and the North + East had very few empty seats. Even the West Stand had little room. (I was in the South, I may be wrong as I wasn't actually in that stand)

The HJ can hold 13,000... How could we have fit another 1400 people into that stadium this afternoon? Movement was limited enough!

I just read on BBC Sport that the attendance was 5818, which struck me as odd, so I came on here to ask why the attendance was so pathetic. I saw this thread and presumed it would be dealing with the low attendance. Good to see it was a mistake and the attendance was much healthier - bloody Beeb!

When the HJ was built didn't they say the capacity was about 14500 then after selling that many tickets for the first game realised maybe it wasn't when the ground was full and hundreds of ticket holders were standing outside?

It was mildly amusing at the time (though obviously not for the unfortunates who had to miss the big night through no fault of their own) but it's ludicrous in hindsight.

I don't really see how another 1500 people would fit in the West Stand yesterday, given that the other three were reportedly sold out and the West was pretty full.

I'm taking nothing for granted after years of disappointment watching the Wire, but IF we do finally start to realise our potential as a club I can see sell outs becoming the norm unless the corners get filled in to increase capacity.

Skysportsnews seem to have got the BBC bug, and put the attendance as 5'800 when showing the tries around 00:30 last night.

Jedward had a 3rb member in the South stand today adding to attendance, had to look twice at the loaf hair!

Fill in the corners!

In the short term we'll have to give less tickets to away fans like they do in football.

I presume they'll get the whole of the West Stand. What an atmosphere that game will be. Still just about dark at that time.

Yes it was a good attendance and a great marketing ploy to get the fans in having Jedward on... the game should have given the fans something to shout about and we will hopefully see them come back to the HJ time and time again.

I was in the West Stand for the first time ever, having only decided to drive over when I got up on Sunday morning (Wife said 'I thought you'd be going to Warrington,' so I took up the offer), there was plenty of room in the West, it was easy to move around.

I must admit I've never been one for all this 'get the corners filled in' thing as before investing further in the ground I think we need consistent evidence that average crowds will justify it and rarely selling out the ground as it is now doesn't justify it for me.

I would like to see the South West corner joined to create one big terrace with an old fashioned "Ground" ticket though. I'd probably stand on the curve if that was the case.

Some guy sat behind me suggested that if the corners were filled in it wouldn't have been cold yesterday, either. I believe him, get it built!

There were 11500 Wire fans there yesterday. When we play the likes of Saints, Wigan, Hull, Leeds we are limited to 9500 home places. We should start limiting the away allocation and let them have only 1500 tickets for the west. Hull teams excepted.

My first time in the west, reminded me of the old Wilderspool days. I felt all nostalgic

So they refused you entry to the South stand even with a season ticket?
