Sometimes you find in positions of authority people feel the need to assert it and thus all wisdom goes out of the window. It's a problem i had early on in my career when i just dealt in absolutes, it gets you nowhere and definitely doesn't win you any friends.
The trouble with stewards and bouncers is that the job is perceived to be a job that can 'get a bit tasty' so only draws certain types. These types have usually only got 2 types of diplomacy left hand and right hand. Obviously there are always people who break the stereotype but they are few and far between.

On the theme of stewards, we went in early yesterday to watch the under 20s and I sat and listened to one of our "Head Stewards" talking to a bunch of the sub contracted meatheads about where they should stand and what their roles where too be.

In his words they where to "Shove people off the yellow lines" and not to take any "poop". If anyone gave them any then give them a shout and they would send "The Mob" in to sort it out.

It got me to thinking that most of the people I have met through going to the Warrington games are either families or individuals that spend a lot of money following the team home and away. Trouble at home is very rare and I thought in the circumstances that the discussion was a little over the top and in MHO out of order.

I arrived at my usuall time of 2.45 and got straight in the North Stand and was stright into my seat. No problem atall.

That's because every turnstile was open in the North they're on about the West.

Yes we were disorganised(word?) but it's happened, nothing we can do about it, and yes, i would be very annoyed if i turned up to a game and i had to que for over 30 minutes and then miss abit of the game, but its happened now, so quit your wining.

I'm not "wining", I was pointing out that the West stand turnstiles was closed not the North.

i watched NZ v Aus at The stoop in the last 4 nations, the queues was absolute pish, missed the haka and a couple of tries but i did turn up 10 mins before kickoff without a ticket.

again this problem could of easily been resolved if they didn't turn up 5 minutes before the games starts just in case there is a problem

now lets get things into perspective, several turnstile operators failed to turn up on sunday, every stand had a shortage. in ther west people were q'ing from half two. it was a logistic problem caused by lack of staff not people turning up last minute. along with broken turnstiles.
