| Hate the amount of bombs we're doing, best kick today came from Currie at one point.
I am sick of wheeler watching the ing ball zooming past him from dummy half.
Russell whilst he scored two, two of the most awkward looking finishes ever. It was like playing frogger. Plus he's looking incredibly hesitant running the ball back in, which is kinda understandable.
Couldn't believe Sims getting sin binned, complete joke.
Good first half from Philbin, disappeared slight second, but that was more the way the team was.
Ratch's goal kicking? was that the conditions today?

The bombs were not even going anywhere either, they were just going up and dropping down about 3-4 metres ahead of where they were kicked from.
Sims' sin binning was a joke. Gets a tackle to the head, then gets punched, yet gets binned for retaliation. Shocking. I doubt very much he would just stand there whilst he was being punched.

| I think criticism of our kicking game is a bit harsh tbh, it's certainly not the worst in the league.
We make some decent kicks at times, and some diabolical ones too. But we keep the opposition in their 20 most of the time and turn the defenders around a few times. Agree on the bombs, some shocking ones recently, but again some good ones too. More of them need to be higher though, GOB should be on leg curls during the gym sessions.
All in all, we grinded out a win (against a side that turned Wigan over) and that is how titles are won.

imo the sin binning was the game changer.
without that 10 minute period of space it created and the 12 points resulting from it, we would have lost today.

Mylers not the worst HB in the league, but he still gets criticised.
Therefore, I stand by my damning assessment of our kicking game.

| I concur with Wf111.
The kicking game is pants but unfortunately for him it further strengthens my opinion for the return of the love fest.

| Three out of four of our kicks are dire, I can't see many teams having a worse kicking game than that.

| Is there a bigger Whinging Aussie than Terry Campese?????
.....Love me..... he almost plays the entire game waving his loving arms in the air.
that aside it was a shocker of a game.........no structure in offence or defence, no kicking game, no kick chase, lacking runners as options for O'brien, enthusiasm only in patches, no communication on the right flank, no one supporting Clark when he breaks up the middle. Ben Currie for 99% of the game looking like one of those players that actually doesn't like rugby league and turned up to the wrong trials....and then runs like he did for his try..
Message to Leeds fans: bring pop, crisps, and blankets....its going to be a loving picnic for you lot.........

Jesus! You do know you actually won?? What a whinge bag you are!.
Seems to me your recent success has blinded you from the times when you weren't very good.
Try and be a rugby league fan from Hull, a city starved of success amongst probably the most passionate fans in the game.

| I don't think that wind helped a lot today with the field kicking department. In general though, there is no reason why our halfbacks can't develop their kicking game with practice.

I've just got back and felt we travelled in decent numbers. We where certainly in good voice. Still you got the points for your performance on the pitch not the amount of fans through the turnstiles. Enjoyable game and on another day we'd have taken the spoils. Good luck for the rest of the campaign but not when you visit Craven Park

I thought it was a fair turnout from the KR fans.
You've got the makings of a decent side, having beat wigan and got within ten points of Leeds and Warrington.....all recent grand finalists..... You wont go down.
though I'm still desperately dissapointed with our performance I thought we were just to shabby in every department.
apparently that means I'm a doom monger.....

| Apparently Bridge and Harrison weren't fit and Atkins was taken ill. Very strange looking backline, but if we can still win with 3 late changes, then I'm happy. Not playing particularly well and winning is far better than playing well and losing. Maybe some people on here should start watching Wigan, at least you'd have something to whinge about.

| Main thing is that we won. We're going to have to up our game big time v a Leeds to be in with any chance. Agree with many of the things said, especially the lack of kicking game- really poor today.
I wish we could try and create some space on the wing for Penny as he'll out pace pretty everyone and is such a huge threat. If it wasn't for a forward pass from Ratchford (I think) he would have been in after burning the winger on the outside.

I really feel sorry for Penny at the moment..... He's doing everything but score.
Put in some great performances in various positions but always seems to get ankle tapped when half way through a gap.... The forward pass today was unlucky as he had done the winger and I'd have backed him any day against the full back.
His time will come though.

| We will need to play a lot better than that to beat Leeds. Granted the late withdrawls caused a lot of reshuffling, but there were several worrying aspects to our game. The kicking was poor, we looked clueless with the ball when attacking 10 metres out and our defence on the right simply leaked tries for most of the game. I couldn't figure out why we were constantly a man short on the right with Penny sprinting out of the line in a desperate attempt to stop the move - that must have happened 4-5 times.
To be fair to HKR, they showed a fair bit of flair in the halves and had a good kicking game. They also brought a reasonable number of fans. I did a rough count on the West terrace and reckon it must have been around 200, so to say they had less than the stewards is disrespectful. We didn't exactly pack the ground out with under 10k. What saved the game for us was their leaky defence and our willingness to move the ball.

who has a worse one?
i honestly cant think of one... i was going to say Hull.. but they have Sneyd now, who is a decent kicker.
There really is no one with a worse kicking game that i can see.

| Is it me or is Wheelers defence a massive weak link for us? He is too easily beat and so soft in the tackle.
Our kicking game needs to improve massively and the magic of Ratchford saved us yesterday. We are only 4 games in and lost a game many thought we would anyway we will improve and I have every faith in TS to sort out our game.

| Very happy with the win yesterday, the game had one of those horrible feelings (similar to Wakefield at home last season) where we were going to get beat and beat comfortably. We didn't play well but won against a decent side (HKR are in a false position IMO). We would get battered against Leeds if we play like that but I think we will up our game on Friday. Ratchford was class yesterday and thought King went well when on.

Was he defending next to Joel? I'm sure he was at times because that's probably why Hull KR had some success down our right side; Joel kept having to move in to cover Wheeler, leaving Penny to deal with their overlap.
