I went to Headingley. A very poor piece of defensive play let John Walker score the match winning try from a tap penalty for Wigan in the semi.
Kev Penny was clear twice and got caught. Rhys Evans is class, and also the Wire no. 10 was a real handful with the ball, but not so defensively.
Wigan did well to win it with a team made up entirely of U20 and U18 players.

I'd speculate that it was Brooke Broughton. Very powerful runner, excellent speed, but defence could improve.

how "clear Was he?" was he say ten or twenty yards clear and got reeled in or did he make a half break and get caught before getting into full speed ?
remember Penny and James chisolm crossed the line together in last years sprint seperated by the width of a hair in the end....
on another note how did he look in hmself ? as enthusiastic as ever or quite subdude and looking like a player off to Wakefield.? |
