Just envy from the s. Lineham, Gidley and hopefully Sandow. SJM, TS and the new club gaffer don't seem to be pulling any punches. Whatever happens, even if we don't make the top 4 this year (probable with the fixtures etc), it's exciting times again for next year.

Saints ,wigan and leeds know we can beat them ,huddersfield,Cas ,Cats and Hull are more than beatable by us with a fully fit team ,if Sandow ,by some miracle, clicked straight away ,we would be a serious challenge to all other teams in super8s

I think we were 10th in the league when we won it in 2009, so current league position is not that important.

The income from a Challenge cup final with all the trappings associated with the final..... memorabilia etc that is sold, is what Wire will be focusing on in the 8`s if we qualify for Wembley.

Leeds or Saints will be chasing both trophies, so won`t be able to rest players, which would be to our advantage.

Huddersfield I reckon could beat all the above bar perhaps Leeds on the day. It's very close between all the sides. I totally agree though that on our day we could have any of them. Sandow (by many accounts) has the ability to majorly change a game. If he signs, that could be the difference, even if not this year, but next. Look at the difference Briers made to our side with inventiveness and creativity. Players like Atkins and J Monaghan, who thrived on the perfectly timed passes to utilize power and speed/perfect off the cuff kick to the corner(Brierseske). Sandow sounds like the perfect fit. With Gidley there, it gives us a solid direction which on paper, complements Sandow's game to form a balanced hb
partnership.

Exciting times are ahead because we haven't got 2 reserve nrl halfbacks. We also don't have a back line with the mobility of 4 wardrobes and excitement and skill of the players on a table football pole.

We were much worse last season, winning the grand final with Olde Man Wellens, 4 Wardrobes and no half backs (Flanagan and Wilkin).

Flower won saints the final last year but , all due respect for getting there it was an amazing effort given all the injuries to key personnel

Huddersfield have got some revenge on us this season but, the difference has been Brough ,can't see them beating us 3 times in a season and we are playing much better plus getting bodies back at the right time

With regard the 'homesickness' thing. Is there anything more to it than he was missing his new born baby who was elsewhere in Australia 300+ miles away. And he missed a training session to see him / her?

It's an honest question, I don't know the details. But I've had a newborn baby, unprofessional or not id be tempted to miss a training session under certain circumstances.

If he's here with his wife and kids, will he have the same issues? His 'world' presumably will be here with him?

The bottom line is that you are just about to sign a total F*ckwitt! He has little respect for his team mates, less for the coach and even less for the club and fans he plays for.

No NRL club would touch him.

If you can tame him he could be the best player in the comp and tear teams appart.

Well I'm a Warrington fan and I am sceptical of bringing Sandow in. That is purely based on what I have read so far about him, his hot and cold performances, his off field antics etc. so doesn't surprise me that others are saying the same thing. Hardly Cooper Cronk is he?

If what happened to Sandow had happened to me, I'd have acted the exact same way!

I think he may be coming for a big fat pay cheque ,if he comes & the ducks figures are correct.

Dont talk rubbish..... the club knows its a risk.. if it works out, its a brilliant signing.. If it doesnt, well he probably goes home and at least we tried.

Off field antics - look at Briers, and well, the rest of the club right before Smith came in - Lee was off the rails, wasting his career - he seemed to do OK for us once Smith was in.....

We know Smith is brilliant at managing these kind of players..... He will put an arm round Sandow and tell him he is building a team around him... Make him feel wanted.

He could be the best player in super league by a country mile.... So this is a risk worth taking.
