| Quote ="morleys_deckchair"its worth taking a risk on a short term deal... if he doesnt settle and goes back, then he goes back.... i would rather we took a punt on someone like Sandow, than signed players like Walsh or Burns... i dont think anyone at our club wants to see that sort of signing.'"
Walsh and Burns have the excitement and creativity of a cow in formaldehyde although it did apparently win the Turner Prize (not the Saints centre).

| Souths were still someway into being rebuilt from almost ruin during his time there.. Sandow was lured away to a province of crispy dollar notes like a FIFA official at a Bolshevik ballet.

| Funny ,there are still plenty of Parra who are sad to see him go ,the bulldog game probably convinced them it was the end of the road and I understand Russell Crowe wasn't happy when he left souths ,if he'd stuck with them rather than going to Parra ,I'm sure he'd have got to finals

Also, if a player is potentially leaving/leaves in acrimonious circumstances, then the club's fans are less likely to post glowing comments.

This is a personal favourite: "Do they have internet and phone lines in Warrington? They can access information on players, right? If so, they've got rocks in their heads.
What are the odds of Sandow, a notorious home-sick, alcoholic, inconsistent miscreant going up to the North of England, freezing his rubbish off and play his best footy? I wouldn't take 1000-1 odds if you offered them to me.
He's going to get homesick, bored, cabin fever, probably fat, and be back in a year. I'd take any odds on that."

Briers didn't take us to the heights of playoff rugby for years but was still classed as world beater by his fans and also ripped the Aussies apart playing for Wales. Yes play off rugby is the pinnacle but if you have never played play off rugby that doesn't make you poor.

| Not sure what to make of that ,I cant see that Chris has many options left ,it's going to be very uncomfortable to stay at Parra just to collect his wages ,I take it if he comes over now we are actually going to pay him a wage ?? Seems best to take the parra offer and Pursue TPA through legal channels

| Many of the greatest players supposidly have a screw loose somewhere, but that loose screw gives them the ability to create the unexpected, think that few steps ahead and make them a cut above the average player.
I can't wait for Sandow to arrive. One thing for sure as well, he'll get a fantastic warm reception from the Wire fans and hopefully feel at home, away from all the crap down under and appreciated over here.
Just hope he signs and were not counting chickens.

Isn't he out of contract at the end of the season anyway? He could easily sit and take the salary and play for Wentworthville who will likely not have many games left, then have a long holiday, then join Warrington anyway? The statement/interview is just Warrington putting the pressure on him to make a decision on that. All depends on how much money we're talking between his remaining contract and the $50,000 offer from the Eels. If it's significant he'd be daft to come over early. If not, he'll take the offer and jump on the plane.

| If he comes over early, then I'm guessing that Wire will be paying a salary from the point of him joining. If we're matching the money he would be earning for the remainder of his Eels contract, I can't see why he doesn't just come over, unless they're other payments owed- image rights etc.?

| It seems to me that Saints and Leeds fans have an unhealthy interest in our potential signings trawling the Internet for any negative comments they can find. Could it be that they are getting a bit anxious of Simon Moran and his spending power ? Both Leeds and Saints owners don't have a great reputation for putting their hands in their pockets. Perhaps it would be better to spend time on their own players. By the way, how did Savelio go last Thursday....was he playing ?

Just envy. Fair play to Saddened who is more of a hybrid Saints/Wire fan, but Stainsno1 and other Saints/gypsies posters like to try and take, thinking they have the same sl side of 6+ years before. They'll try and take the out of us for trying to sign Sandow whilst harbouring reserve grade halfbacks as their primary signings.

They also seem to have conveniently forgotten that they were so desperate for half backs a couple of seasons ago that they had to borrow Gaz O`Brien off us.
When Wire recalled him, Saints fans were very unhappy.

but they had only been re-admitted to the league a few years before Sandow had his debut (aged 19) , and were perennial wooden spooners. Surely that would have been like asking why the reformed Sheffield Eagles haven't troubled Wembley since 1996...

=#FF0000really worth reading ???? you think so...? what Aussie view is that ?
Its not the Eels players view, seeing as they voted Sandow players player of the year last year, over superstar and best player in the world Jarryd Hayne...??
If only they could have had the ear of this particular fan at the time. After all fans know best .....especially bitter ones.
