What you blaming the ref for? We're crap. The ref didn't make Dufty pull out of his catch, the ref didn't make us put a bus between centre and winger for their latest try. WE didn't take advantage of being a player up for a good 25 minutes before we got pinged. Making excuses.

Burgess should be raging, his players are effortless

Was expecting a heavier defeat so quite relieved. We were well beaten by their pack and our half backs offered nothing in attack. No disgrace in that result though. Mid table side.

I blamed the ref because he was gash, we were too, didn't help ourselves, couldn't beat 12 men but I'm not surprised.

Same old problem ,getting marched downfield to easily . The most dangerous we looked was in the last 20 seconds when Ashton got hold of the ball .

It'll be interesting to see how quickly people work out that a lot of Ashton's impact last season was supported by Ratchford's centre play. Whereas King's first impulse is to head infield.

I have to say though...that Sims tackle on Williams was EPIC

Weirdly I thought we were decent and are laying a foundation. There’s a good side there and it will emerge.

Positives

Conceding only 2 tries.
Players looked "together"
Vaughan picked up where he left off.
We look fitter.

Concerns

Pack easily beaten. Dudson and Philbin are ineffective prop forwards.
We dont look threatening in opposition 30m.
Halfbacks dont create many opportunites.
Dumb rugby / discipline.

Fitzgibbon looked v decent and i thought Musgrove did well too.

Halves MUST do better though. Williams doesn't look much of a Marquee player on tonight's performance. Own the game, Son.

Drinkwater was awful again.

I thought you looked alright today. But it's a difficult game to put any judgement on because we don't know how good Catalans are. They have had so many changes that it's not the same team that got them to the Final last year. Are they are top 2/3/4 team or are they going to finish 8th? Who knows. This migth look a decent performance from Warrington in a few weeks, or it might look like a missed opportunity. There was just something missing tonight, which could just be confidence. There didn't look a ton of belief that you'd win, but the effort was there. Not having Ratchford sulking and shaking his head and blaming others probably helps, there looked to be a good level of togetherness.

Fitzgibbon looked decent and started well, Vaughan looked fit but his influence on the game is very patchy. Superb finish from young Lindop for his try, his performance is another positive for you. He made a couple of errors but he always responded well to those and looks a player you will be giving a lot more gametime to over the next couple of years.

We didn’t looked joined up, but we stayed in the fight throughout, pretty much what Burgess told us too expect early doors. We need to improve but the basics looked there or thereabouts.

Attacking structure probably most in need of improvement. Impressed Burgess played Wrench at centre and Lindop on the wing.

I think our main issue is Drinkwater - he’s a godawful RL player and Burgess knows it. If Hayes starts against Hull then rest assured we’ll be ok

I really hope Burgess is ruthless.
