Transaction involving a director. Compulsary note in any set of limited company accounts.

I'm not suggesting they would; but however they're paying for it, be it loans or whatever, is bound to impact on next year's accounts and wipe out any profit we might make from winning the Grand Final and WCC.

Would obviously depend on our levels of profit and what the repayments were but I see your point. I would actually be interested to know if anyone wants to ask when they get the opportunity at an event. Unfortunately I'm exiled and can't attend
On the Image Rights issue theres a guy on the Bradford forum (think it's Adey Bull) who gives a really good account of what has/is going on.

| Our income should also rise in the next set of accounts;
Season tickets went up by an average of £20 multiply this by around 7k ST holders thats another £140k, maybe only £100k with the reduced kids tickets.
Plus our overall attendances are up considerably on last year, I would guess at least an average of 1500 people at £15 each (allowing for kids prices) which equates to £22.5k per game x 13 home games giving an extra £292k.
Adding these together this is nearly £400k of extra revenue.
This also doesnt include the rise in food/drink prices of around 10%.
Before anyone starts picking my figures apart these are guesstimates.
I'm not sure if retirement lump sums alledgedly paid to Aussie Wingers come off this though

| Quote ="Ian 77 Redux"Thanks for telling me how Warrington will record the cost of the expansion in their accounts. I admit, I was guessing, I don't know how they'll do it. I was making the rather simple point that it's going to cost money and that it might affect the accounts.
And as for this comment:-
I was taking the p155 out of Wigan and, in particular, I was suggesting that Wigan fans would be unable to accept that Warrington had a larger turnover than them and would insist that it was higher, even when it wasn't?
(Dont you just love it when people get all uppity and cross about internet message boards, take themselves far too seriously and post silly messages trying to look clever!!!)'"

I don't really understand your question. But Wigan pay a percentage of their gate receipts to rent the stadium. Last year this was £197k.
What you have to take into account is that there are no extra costs i.e groundsmen, staff, lighting etc. to pay. For example the new pitch didn't cost Wigan RLFC anything.
I would think that Wigans 2011 finances will show a better profit than Wires did in their 2010 Cup winning season.

i suppose i worded it badly so i'll try again, despite the wage costs that warrington pay to maintain the stadium which i guess are off set by staging ccsf's and Auz v Nz matches say, wigan have week in week out larger crowds than warrington, i'm sure you may have mentioned that once or twice
197k goes straight to whelan's pocket thus kinda off setting the difference in crowd size if you get my drift. so in theory if we increase or crowds by even a small % next season following the expansion of the ground in real terms wigan would need a larger % to even come close on the financial stakes.
wow that's clear as mud!
i supose what i'm saying is .....owning your own ground is better than renting! especially when it comes to revenue!

| The only downside is we have to pay for "filling in the corners" whereas the Goons don't need too. Oh and their stadium is vastly superior but not as "sexy and state of the art" as ours.

Wigan pay a percentage to Whelan (10%) but there is little cost. How much is the cost of the ground development at Wire, and how long will it take to recover that cost, when you only fill it twice a season (V Wigan & Saints)?

A percentage that Whelan could increase at anytime, 10% is very generous compared to other deals I've seen. Your landlord really should be harder on you.
We might only fill it twice a season however the average is over 11,000 and we've only had 1 attendance under 10,000. Best to expand now while the demand is there and the £2 Million will be covered quicker.
We have a stadium as an asset Wigan Warriors don't.
