| I'd like King to stay, I think we'd struggle to get a better replacement. I'm not sure we've actually given him enough credit for his last 18 months with us, since about the CC QF in 2009, he's been immense.
He doesn't half take the burden of the forwards and he's improved his attacking threat both for himself and his winger tenfold.

According to Wikipedia (bad source I know but the RFL website is useless) there is only a plan for it up to next year:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quota_players where each club is allowed a maximum of 5 quota and 5 overseas trained - which is ridiculous because teams can still have 10 overseas players, how is that helping? It should just be 5 overseas no loopholes end of. Hopefully that will be the case after 2011.

couldn't agree more, no loopholes no mess.
one of the things i have proposed to the RFL in my dissertation is something that so many people on here asked me to bring up, and that is transparency, people would trust the RFL so much more if they could actually see what rules were being enforced where etc. now my dissertation was on the licensing system, but the same rule applies in that fans want to know what is going on, and it isn't that hard to show them, just the RFL can't be bothered.

speaking of which, did anyone else think that today was just more reason to keep blythe in the centre's rather than in the pack?

I'd have him back in a heartbeat.
I think I'd play him right centre, let him & Joel get a combination going, just pure raw power and have Bridge inside Evans for a bit of guile & craft.

it would be a very interesting prospect to see those two in full flow.

| I heard that King wanted to go back when he found out Hicks was leaving and asked for it and then he found out his wife was expecting and asked to stay again !!!!! Think it is obvious now that it is his last season with us and he will return with his wife and new baby when born. Good luck to him he has been great player and a great ambassador for our club. Has always gone the extra mile on and off the field. He will be missed by many. A great person with time for everyone.

| I'm not sure if I'm bothered. I still remember him being one of the worst defensive centres I've seen in a long while. He did kevin pennys career no favours at all. He has turned his game around though and looked very good last year.
With Bridge and Evans in the centres there's no place for him other than on the wing. And at £500,000 a year (according to pie eaters) ......that's a bit much.
He genuinely seems to have enjoyed it over here though.I'm sure he'll be missed by his teammates more.

Give us a break Bridge was garbage yesterday and has not done anything to put him in front of Atkins or King or Blythe so IMO that makes him fourth choice centre
Bridge is a turnstile in defence and a poor passer of the ball at best I and all of the people I stand with at the match are mystified to what people see in him we
Think he is average at best

No one loses a player next year as 2011 is the last year for reduction in the overseas quota the only reductions in future will be when the likes of solomona and Richards and Hansen leave their respective clubs as they don't count on the quota and will have to be replaced by British players

Ahhh..I thought there was one more round of reductions after the 2011 season. My mistake.

Your opinion Padders, fair enough.
I'm with you yesterday, apart from the first try I thought he was poor, but the vibe was that he was ill prior to the game and that's why he didn't come back on. I actually think for the last two years he might have been our most consistant player.
You've a downer on him, always have had always will have, that's cool. I'm prety confident he's first choice centre at Warrington and has been for a long time now hence why we had Matt King playing outside Ryan Atkins & vice versa last year.

| if the ARL get the good TV deal they are talking about to give them a $5m salary cap every good Aussie over here will be back like a shot, Finch, King, O'Donnell will be among them. There will be a shortag eof good players over there particularly if they put another couple of teams in the league.
To be fair that is not a bad thing it will be good for English RL even if we al lose some fans favourites.

| To be fair he probably will head home. And thats fair enough in my opinion. He's been awesome in general since 08' and got two CC Winners Medals to show for his time here. I'd obviously prefer him to stay, but with Atkins, Bridge, Evans and Blythe in place to cover two positions, we're hardly starved of options.
I'm also excited about Rhys Williams' future. I can see him nailing down a wing spot with us in the not too distant future. He seems to have the full package in terms of ability. He's a brick house, defensively sound and got pace to burn. Never looks phased by anyone either, similarly to Evans, which shows massive amounts of maturity.

Bridge is an England centre, and arguably the best.
I think the majority of the squad had an off day yesterday, but Bridge, as you know jwp, is the type who may just ruin the Giants' on his own come friday. He's that good!

Agreed. He has the best footwork of any player in our squad. Creates space when there is none.

| I wish King all the best and we will cope without him. I'm also a huge fan of Bridge, people have short memories. I also believe Rhys Evans is going to be a sensation.

You'd have him at prop. Don't know where you get the turnstile thing from. Bridge has been great the past two years and a huge factor in us winning at Wembley in 2009.
