According to bbc sport, Salford have turned down a 6 figure sum from Hull KR. He'd be costing quite a lot, but I think he'd be worth it.'"
Read that on Sarl and on HKR site. HKR are really throwing the money around now and fair play to them. If Salford do grant him a transfer it’s will take a fair lump of money for whoever can get him.

Well given they are currently trying to raise money for the club you would think it inevitable, anyway seems HKR are in the driving seat.

New board plus other multiple revenue streams, they have been very good at growing their brand, fair play to them.

| We seem to have gone quiet of late, since Hiku is now confirmed to HKR and I think Gildart is going to be announced by them also soon enough I’m wondering where that leaves us in the looking for a centre.

Sounds good. The sport needs as much financial investment as possible, spread out among as many clubs as possible.
Would be great to have 12 solidly backed clubs, paying transfer fees and marquee wages - would revive the sport in so many ways.

Wonder if Sheikh Jassim fancies buying a club if the Glazers don’t sell him UTD

Had a full board takeover in the winter with a healthy contingent of no less than 6 board members (another to come later on in the year) with the existing chairman Neil Hudgell still on board putting money in. (In context his money alone kept us surviving at worst, competitive at best!)James Mcnicol is likely to be the money man behind these transfers I'd imagine
( https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/r ... ol-7919098). Some big ambitions labelled here such as wanting to watch one of the best in the land and putting money in to achieve this). All this with buying our own ground, having multiple revenue streams and some real money spinners in The Who/Rod Stewart concerts at Craven Park, off the pitch is certainly going well. The board have put it on record to do it smart though, rather than tossing money about. It's also been a well kept secret the resources we've got which is also smart..why put pressure on a new coach pre season talking the talk?
The potential is huge and you're right on the next page, it's great for the sport. I also like the statements from our board actively encouraging the sport as a whole to progress. They want competition as it would sharpen their own focus, there's no point doing all this in a poor sport they've said.

| I wouldn't take too much seriously that you guys have been reading on SARL/TRL etc. Poor lazy journalism along with the likes of that kno* jockey Matthew Shaw on Twitter.
If you want in for Tyler then show us the money. Otherwise, go forth and multiply, or something to that effect.
Was a really uplifting evening last night at the Salford City Stadium with plenty of positive things discussed about the future of our club.

I've got no issue with that, he'll be a better player than when he left us. He's a decent player and Wrench has the attributes and potential to be a great player for us

Get what you are saying but then I would be wondering if he is a better player would Wigan not want to keep him or have the club decided they want him back because there is a lack of quality centres available.

Nobody knows if the plan was to do something like this with him anyway. It was literally just all oppinion that he was as good as gone. But i do get what you mean about the lack of centres, as he is still our player we can do whats best for us.

| Given that there will still be 2 years left on his contract and Wigan are prepared to pay up to £200k for Tyler Dupree, it is logical to ask for a fee or we might as well take him back.

Typer Dupree is worth signing.

| “I wanted a certain type of centre. To be fair to Toby, there’s no doubt he has a lot of potential. But I think after he got his contract here last year he kind of stalled. And I don't think at the start of this year he was playing his best rugby.

Not sure how to view this news?
We need a centre and obviously he is one, and he isn`t a Quota player, which is a plus. But there is baggage associated with his return (If it happens).
There is no doubt that he was one of the players who wouldn`t accept Powell`s new broom approach last year, and that is why we moved him to Huddersfield initially, and then Wigan for this season.
There is also the issue of Salary Cap management, and King requiring to be paid the deal that Wire agreed with his agent.
It looks to me that Hiku choosing to sign for Hull KR, has upset our centre recruitment plan, but surely there must be other players available from the NRL.
I would prefer that King was loaned-out again for 2024. There will be other clubs other than Wigan willing to take him.
We should then be able to sign another centre for next season.
Ratchford has another year of his contract left for next season btw.

I think 2 points to make is if the story going around surrounding Dupree to Wigan I think that is going to be a big deal and therefore Wigan won’t want to take on King’s salary.
2nd given the contract he is on now who realistically would or could take it on.
But yeh probably the Hiku situation messed plans up a fair bit
