Things even themselves out in the end. 3 play the balls before the incident you mention above, Childs missed a Leeds player blatently crossing in front of the ball carrier.

Inconsistent Refereeing is the worst kind ......when Leeds players are stood side by side shoulder to shoulder at the play the ball and he does nothing, then he does us for it, it's a bit much to take .....

I like Ganson because he's consistently $hit...and you know what you are getting....

This bloke today was very inconsistent and generally very poor. Wires however were much much worse.......

No pace in the side and our defence has disappeared....goal kicking has been a bit of $hitty area for us since Jonathan Davies left so I'm not going to be critical of that.....oh for Brett Hodgson being here already (plus Mathers was extra poor as well today)

I don't normally complain about the ref however tonight i thought he was preety poor compared to his performances in other matches ive seen, it wasn't the reason we lost as we should have defended better(seniors, Buderus & McGuire's trys)

Thing is, it happens every week. Matt King is always blocked off by players and whenever you see a kick to the corner on TV there are always players blocking off. I don't think it's right but if other teams can get away with it then so can we...

Childs probably didn't have his best game of the season as a ref, but he's in his first year as a SL ref and will only get better. Wire were stupid across the park - they could see where he was caning us and continued to offend (square at the ptb), likewise they could see where Leeds were getting away with things (sneaking offside) and instead of continuing to run at the offside players we should have been smart and started to sneak up on the line ourselves. Monas mouthing off is unacceptable - more experienced refs would have binned him for that. Childs' decisions probably evened themselves out through the game and in no way lead to us losing.

Whats happened to dragging into touch these days......

a player In Thursday nights game of "RUGBY LEAGUE" (same rules as Superleague believe it or not) at Sheffield was clearly dragged into touch ...no penalty ....

and although on the other side of the pitch to us I thought the incident yesterday when we were penalised was a reasonable attempt at putting someone in touch, no dragging no Rolling him over but a penalty.....

havent seen the replay yet but this morning I still hold the view that Ref's are not consistant from one game to the next and Childs in particular wasnt consistent from one minute to the next.....

still a piddle poor effort from Wires though.....

You had the game in the bag at 20-12 and failed to put Leeds to the sword.

you can push but you cannot pull or lift & carry a player into touch and it all has to be in one movement without momentum being stopped - same rule for going over the try-line to force a goal line drop out

Brian Carney told us on the telly that the rule about dragging into touch is; if the player is being tackled and the defense start to drag him the ref will call held, if they carry on its an immediate penalty. Different refs call different things they are very inconcistent but he did call held several times before the penalty was given, as for the large amount of penalties in a small amount of time they were correct decisions and he called Morley over and justified himself to Morley.

How did Thaler go for you guys, Mick? Did you give him plenty of stick like you normally do every other ref that referee's Bradford when they get beat.

strange we got penalised for pushing/dragging a player out of touch when leeds rolled mathers over the line it counted so is it ok to roll players over the line. mathers got a bit frustrated from that

Childs got the calls right BUT the dragging rule is the worst rule they've introduced.

It's utterly awful. Nine tens out of ten you get a penalty for being put into touch when it isn't one on one - this rule takes away the attacking players motivation to try and stay on the pitch, why would we want that?

anybody see senior kneeling on ben harrisons head obviously childs didnt , also briers 1 on 1 ball steal and they recieved the penalty , holding down numerous times but should of been game over at half time 3 trys bombed in the 1st half and couldnt believe leeds was still in the game then the biggest shocker of the day briers 2nd half kick off why the hell he didnt put it deep into the corner and let the forwards continue to dominate

That was my reply to a silly Castleford who claimed Thaler kept us in the game.

Its simple. Don't drag or pull the opposition player into touch. When Leeds were dragged into touch, it was the correct call.
