Spot on this. Anyone with a family to support would do the same. These guys are not multi millionaire footballers that don't have any financial worries. The guy has served us with distinction and gave his all every game. I hope the club see sense and offer him a deal worthy of his abilities or let him go to ease his worries regarding future

No, leigh should have come to warrington saying, they need a hooker for this season, could we please discuss the possibility of us buying mickey higham off you for this year, they can discuss whatever they want with mickey from november this year onwards. For this season they should have come to warrington first with respect, not his head up.
Remember the crying last year from leigh when other clubs were supposedly talking to leigh players without giving the very professional mr Beaumont a phone call first? remember the crying when Koukash was talking to Ryan Brierly on twitter?
He's contracted to us this year, he's our player,if you're interested in taking him, you talk to the club first. IF you're saying leigh are dangling a two year contract but only if they can get him now, well thats pretty ty on their part.

He's not available this year. He's under contract, and our other hooker is out injured, and our reserve is/was on loan at london, we've now recalled him, but its caused disruption within our squad and also now london's.
The point still stands, either way, for this year, they should have given tony smith a call first and foremost. We're a club that doesn't mind players moving on, whatsoever, it happens, but do it the right way.

| How sound a financial footing are Leigh on these days? This Beaumont character seems almost as impulsive and deranged as Kouskash.

| At the end of the day.. Micky needs to get his head down and play well for us now until the end of the season.
The 2 year deal will be there at the end of the year, there's no doubt about that!

| I am fairly sure that Higham is within his rights to talk to other clubs before the end of the season, simply because his contract runs out this year. BUT.. he knows Clark is currently injured and as a long standing player I would have expected he would have had the curtesy to approach Smith and say that he had been approached / was thinking of talking to Leigh. That for me is the disappointing aspect of the affair. In fact he has probably shot himself in the foot as well, since if TS is annoyed he can quite easily refuse to release him this year and remove a big incentive for Leigh to offer Hingham a 2 year deal.

If you listen to the interview it is fairly clear that the deal was cooked up and then put to TS. Unless you wish to say Smith is lying in the above interview ?

Unlike at Wigan, Smith plays a great role in the club. His role is director of rugby and coaching.
He chooses who, when, what and why.
Simon Moran becomes involved with the contacts only after TS has considered the 4w's.
The roles Simon Moran plays little more than entertaining executive guests and brokering contracts over players...but only a TS target.
At Wigan were the ape has almost nothing to do with contract renegotiation and player selection outside of the academy.
It's no secret that Wane and Charnley don't get along to say the least.
Wane can't stop shouting how good Manfredi is.....I can guess why.
It was said to me Wane wanted Charnley out and dropped him, Leneghan refused to sack him and made Wane select him in the next game.
I believe they don't talk to each other.
That sort of relationship thankfully doesn't take place at Warrington.

| TS said they will talk again this week on local radio.
I think if Micky really wants to it, He will be released. I convinced he will leave for these two reasons...
If Micky is heading for Leigh in 2016 which seems extremely likely, wouldn't it be better if Leigh took every possible chance for playing in SL available to them? Micky being reason one.
Micky going early means he can make a difference in the super 8s.
Playing in that concept he has the opportunity to play a part in shaping his career.
He understandably wants to secure his future, reason two.

| Referring to Micky Higham, Richard Agar added: "You could say he was rested - it's been a difficult week with some of the stuff that has gone on.
"And with Brad coming back, we didn't feel that Micky was in the right place to play tonight.
"I think Micky will have further meetings with (head coach) Tony (Smith) this week to try and sort things out." (from sportinglife.com)

I think most players would like to finish there careers at their own town team so u can understand why he wants to come and leigh would be getting a player that could quite easily be the difference come the middle 8s,being a leigh lad I hope it happens but I could quite easily understand if Warrington made him finish out his contract because they'll be losing a qauality player in the middle of the year

If Mickey has decided he wants to come home and has sourced a deal for 16/17, losing his desire to play for Wire at the same time then surely the compensation is paying the last few months of his contract? Oh and dont forget you took Hilly for a pittance, so must owe us one
