Williams is a waste of a squad place. We should have let him go in the summer.
He ran harder in a Castleford shirt than I've ever seen him do in the P&B

Williams is a quality winger kept out of the team by even better talent ahead of him. If he 'ran harder' in a Cas shirt maybe that's because they put him into the odd gap: something we've failed to do on the few occasions he's played for the first team.

People should be allowed a negative opinion of anyone, if we all agreed it would be a boring place.

Have not yet seen Williams show any real drive or commitment. He looks lazy and uninterested to me. I was surprised he got a new contract, let's hope he grasps this opportunity with both hands and leaves us eating our words.

Whilst I wish Williams well, I wish Joel was fit. A little rest might do Joel good but I hope Joel is back for the St Helen's game as he is a thorn in their side.

I understand what you are saying here although I think its more to do with not being brought up playing rugby league. I get frustrated that he doesn't position himself correctly and get into acting half when we are looking for wingers to scoot out of our own 20 on a kick return set. He also seems to to step back into the markers when he does scoot at the play the ball.

Its doubly frustrating as a couple of years back he was without doubt a stand-out performer for the u20s. He also has undeniable pace and strength but in a Warrington shirt we haven't seen it enough on a regular basis. I was suprised that he was given a new contract but I guess Smith sees something there worth persevering with.

Lets hope he takes his chance with both hands as failure to perform when you get your chance with this squad will probably mean a long wait for a second chance. Shaw and Saltonsall must be chomping at the bit for a first team run out.

Me too, but he got a 3 year contract that we didn't really need to do. We're not exactly short on outside backs. However, Smith is not a fool. Winning try in a hat trick performance against St Helens coming up....

Well im with the anti Williams brigade on this.We bang the drum a lot about how good our youngsters are,why not let saltonstall play,these guys need to play sooner or later chances dont come that often????.

Finally someone agrees with me about giving saltonstall a game!

Williams is one of our youngsters.

I do not deny anyone the right to have a negative view, but, I'm in the yet to be convinced by Williams brigade rather than the anti 'mob'.

I don't know how long his run will be but we should all get behind him, hope that he takes this chance yes it might be his last with saltonstall knocking on the door, proves he's worth the shirt, gives TS another selection headache.

If he doesn't at take it at least we will all be better informed as he will be playing in a winning team rather than a team v Salford/London set up before a big game

If Hodgson is out, it might be Riley at fb, Williams on one wing and Saltonstall on the other.

I haven't seen anything from Williams to make me think he has a future as a first team player at our club.... He just doesn't appear to have the game to cut it at top level.

But, Smith gave him a 3 year contract... so he must see something we dont.

At some point this season i think he will get a decent (ish) run of games in the first team...if he doesnt cut it in those games, then i cant see anything BUT him being moved to the side to let one of the next batch of youngsters into the team for a chance.. Shaw and Saltonstall cant be that far away from getting some first team games.

he is very much in a similar position that Mitchell found himself in... good young player, plenty of good things being said about him from inside the club, yet despite plenty of first team opportunities, Mitchell just didn't deliver as a first team player.

I should have worded myself better regarding Williams,ive head how fast he is etc etc but the games ive seen him play ive never seen that,ive seen him have chances to burn opposistion and not do it,ive also seen him have howlers in defence,really how many chances does he need???

TS must see something there in training but as yet it hasn't reared its head in the P&B

I echo what others have said before me, i'm not anti anyone in our squad, if he could have a break out moment, or give the crowd something to say, yeah, good lad, i'd be right behind him.

However i've seen more moments of laziness from him, giving up on chasing back on a couple of occasions where other players have bust a gut chasing opposition length of the field to our try line.

Smith said Joel is out with a strain this week - hopefully just one week on the sidelines, two maximum.

Just seen him and his brother in sainsbury's says he will be back for saints game.

Don't tell everyone ! Saints will plan for the high kicks in the corner. If Williams plays, they can stick a sick forward on the wing !
