Believe me when you live abroad it's not average chain restaurants like Nando's that you miss, but a proper decent chippy.

Some of the best as people have suggested are to be found in the North East, but there's also a few left in Warrington such as the Cantilever, Panny's and Big Blue.

Working in Blackburn I was introduced to a John Bull. Absolutely lovely.

Working all over the Nw it's good to sample the local dishes.

Not one for the veggies but when I first went the TT in the early 80's, chippy in Douglas sold (and still sells!) battered slices of black pudding ....... surprising how something so simple tastes so good ......
